I use a 21"CRT monitor and it is soon to be toast so I want to upgrade I have looked at new CRT monitors and all the sales staff I speak to say that LCD screens are advanced now and are as good if not better than CRT.
I would like to ask the gaming community out here which monitor they feel would be best to play online games with.
I know there is a huge selection out there so do your research and let me know
I would prefer a 21" again.
Please keep comments sensible and constructive

Id go for one of these:

I currently have the A7217A one.. I love it.  If it didnt cost $350, id buy another just cause.  Im sure ill get a 2nd someday, but wow you wont go back to smaller and certainly wont go w/ LCD after you see one of these in person.. Very high quality. And the menu has so many options youll just exit and never go back in due to fear.

You can also get a basic 21" CRT w/ flat screen for less thant $160 delivered off ebay.

This one, SUN, i have a similar one looks great too..

$60 Buy it now, + shipping.  Shipping ranges 40-70 ish.

Theres only three reasons to pick an LCD.

1, you have a weak desk, or a small desk.
2, youre old and cant lift any weight
3, youre trying to conserve power (24" crt = 170watts in use, same size LCD about 80watts)

GG, that wins. Can you get better than 20.1" widescreen with 8ms response time and DVI for under 350? Good reviews all over the web too, check it out. I'm ordering one for my birthday when it rolls up in the end of July

I just got a LCD...and the only thing you wanna make sure is the refresh rate...if it's for gaming, don't go any higher than 8ms or youre gonna hate the LCD. I ain't gonna go for the dead pixel shit but be aware that quality has a price tag more often than not!!! Just shop, fix yourself a budget and go from there...I put $400 for mine...I got what I paid for and even more than I tought!

U know LCDs will soon be better then CRTs

anyways you can get that Viewsonic with a 2ms response time.  I use a dell 24 and a syncmaster 172n (an amazing 25 ms response time lol)  i still dont  have any problems with ghosting and stuff

edit: oh wait you want a 21, then you can probably get the 21 widescreen from Gateway, i think it has a 8ms response time
