Im having the same problems. Game crashed and now i cannot get back in. But my friends are still on and playing.

your specific master server might be down, as far as it saying the program is not responding only means that the process is incapable of recieveing other imput at that time. I dont know your system specs but they probably directly relate to that message.
Phew! I'm glad it's not just me that is having this problem! I tried loading like 4 times and every time it wouldn't do anything but sit at the connecting screen. I had to reboot like 3 or 4 times and I didn't know what the hell was going on. Glad to see other people are having the same problem.
yeah same here ... & task manager says that progam not responding .... got message once "connection closed by server" --- weird
BF2s says my one of my buddies is online right now playing but i havent been able to connect to BF2 Account Server for the last 10 mins to go play...what gives?
Yep. I'm only like 50 minutes from vet helo (my last basic badge) and only a couple hours from the NA service ribbon. I wanted to get both of those tonight, but I guess I'll wait until tomorrow.

I can't connect either. Does it help if you reinstal the game?

The account server is probably just down for the time being. It happens from time to time. Just wait it out.
Same problem here... Don't panic with the not responding, it doesn't seem to be related at all to the issue. If you wait it out you'll get a Connection closed by server message.
guessing their servers are overloaded and they are cheaping out and not putting up new ones
