Hmmm, people might choose lower quality for the same reason they do now... sort of like buying own-brand beer from the supermarket. I think the price might go up, but the highest quality available would remain the same.... does tobacco regulation prevent people from buying £1000 cigars etc.?No 1 Gooner wrote:
no because the quality would go down as it would become regulated..
Price would go down. Making something illegal inflates the price due to the risk of being caught with it.UnOriginalNuttah wrote:

Jesus what are you talking about. Hash in Ireland is the worst quality in the world, why? Because its easier for *them* to make more money, cutting it with tires and all kinds of shite, and importing it into the country all compressed and stuff. No 1 Gooner wrote:
no because the quality would go down as it would become regulated..you would be buying 20 spliffs in ciggie boxes and because it takes away your motivation. if it was fully availible it would be too easy to try. i like it the way it is. you can always get some,as long as you've not got loads on you,you dont get nicked anymore and i would hate to see the government makin loads of money out of it! but then again my opinion shifts daily on this topic. my dad is in jail because of it and if were legal he wouldnt be but still...who knows? i dont..
I don't think that's true at all. Look at Holland, it's legal here, and you get far better quality weed than you do it the UK. And unlike the UK, because you're buying it through a shop, you know you're getting 100% weed, and it's not mixed with other crap. It would never turn into what ciggy's are. In Holland you don't buy it from your local newsagents or whatever, but you go to a coffeeshop or the like to get it. And you get it in a small bag, not 20 pre rolled joints. No 1 Gooner wrote:

The amount of Americans that have asked me for directions to coffeeshops is rediculous. Apparently I look American or something (?) because they always head for me in the street. I'm an Amerimagnet.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:

LoL, an entertainment outlet is by no means comparable to any of the mentions made above, excluding alcohol. Vehicular transportation is so essential to modern society, that talking about banning it (even analogously so) is just psychotic. Sugar and caffeine are also nowhere equal when it comes to side effects, as they do nothing. Tobacco is only similar in that it can degrade ones health, but then again, so can most forms of smoking. Alcohol is an extreme reference to make, as it has many more consequential inhibitions. Marijuana just promotes lethargy, degradation of cognitive intellect, and development of moodiness.UnOriginalNuttah wrote:
No one left a (serious) "No" reason yet...
Anyway (edit: Yes... ), mainly because the whole production process can take place in privacy without affecting anyone but the producer and their electricity bill, and if everyone could grow it then there would be no link to organised crime, and none of the other bullshit reasons the governments give for it being illegal. And the 'health risk' reason is complete bollocks, or tobacco, alcohol, cars, sugar, caffeine, pizza and stressful jobs would all be outlawed as well.
That (quality) thing most likely has something to do with how Holland's cultivators are experienced.ghettoperson wrote:

What the hell are you on? Caffeine is incredibly dangerous, and sugar is highly addicitive and can cause diabetes.Xietsu wrote:

If only they wouldn't use my tax money to take care of alcoholics and drug addicts, as well as lung cancer patients.LawJik wrote:

Economics. Period. Phase out tobacco. Health BENEFITS. And no it doesn't kill brain cells. The problem is educating people about it because its something that is hard to talk about due to the 1980's campaign by the government. PM me if you want some good info. Otherwise I feel like Im wasting my breath.RicardoBlanco wrote:
