I can't say much about the G5,I've got a blue Copperhead, which is absolutely awesome.
I think in terms of precision they are probably quite equal, depends on how you like the handling,I guess.
http://www.razerzone.com/ Have a look, the Copperhead is definitely the most beautiful mouse, that's for sure.

Copperhead > G5 really there is no contest. Granted they both have the same laser, the razer's firmware is a bit more solid.

This Should Be Moved.

I'd Go with the G5, purely from the hype.

Well I use a G5 its an excellent mouse that has a nice feel too it .Bigger than the copperhead and a more conventional shape (good for my large hands) also comes with same small weights so you can adjust the handling. lol .Ive had no problem with the firmware and it works fine in-game.

I have the G5 on order. I used it once before tho, mainly cause I bought it at bestbuy to "try" it out heh.. turned it a few days later cause I didnt want to pay the 80 bucks for it.
newegg for $53 shiped

yeah it only has one button on the side but the wheel clicks sideways for two extra buttons I believe (left and right).

I have the G5 and it's probably the best upgrade I've made for my computer.  Upgrading my RAM and sound card made the game better, but it didn't really increase my gameplay.  This mouse does.

I tested the copperhead out at a friend's house and it was just way too small.  The thing is shaped like a wedge and it's insanely uncomfortable if you use it for more than like 20 minutes at a time.

ok sry for the double post but...

The best gaming mouse: Logitech G5 vs. Razer Copperhead
http://www.techspot.com/reviews/hardwar … up_gaming/

If you don't want to read it all  then here....

Final Thoughts

It is no secret that expectations were high for both of these products, and I was certainly looking forward to evaluate them. Because of the nature of these products, we always recommend our readers try to have a first taste at them at a local computer store when possible. Now having all that said, and to make the long story short, if someone asked me which gaming mouse they wanted to purchase, the Razer Copperhead would be my first choice over the Logitech G5.

Razer Copperhead

Pros:

    *

      2,000 dpi laser sensor
    *

      High level of sensitivity
    *

      Comfortable
    *

      The mouse is visually appealing

Cons:

    *

      Price may be a deterrent
    *

Getting used to this mouse will most likely take a bit of time
    *

Have to pay extra to change weight of the mouse

Logitech G5

Pros:

    *

      2,000 dpi
    *

      Adjustable weight system
    *

      High level of sensitivity

Cons:

    *

      Only one thumb button
    *

Tilt-wheel is hard to adjust to
    *

Has Logitech left forgotten left-handed users?
    *

Scroll wheel could sometimes be a bit annoying

I got a Logitech MX518 and I like it better then the Razor. The Razor's are just not natural. It's like using a pack of smokes as a mouse (try it sometime). And the thumb buttons on the Razors... Yuck! Talk about hitting them all the time on accident.

You have the copperhead confused with the diamondback.

Upgrading to a G5 was about as much of a gameplay booster as when I upgraded from a Radeon 9600xt (yuck) to a Geforce 6800.  It simply fucking rocks.  I've never used a Copperhead but can't imagine it being any better than the G5, especially after what some people have said about it's size: small mice hurt my hands after just like 15 minutes of use, and Logitech's bigger mice always seem to fit my hand like a glove (and stay comfortable for hours).  Plus the weight system is actually pretty cool, and really helps to get the right feel with the mouse so there's less time to adjust to it.

My friend laughed at me when I told him I spent $60-some dollars on a mouse at the store, but then I let him play on my setup.  He bought the G5 the next day, and said he would've bought it instantly after using it if the store had still been open.

Copperhead < G5

Little known fact: Adding weights to the copperhead requires you buying a "pro" kit which voids your warranty.

Any idocy of that extent on the manufactureers part is enough to warrant me ignoring a product.

But ignoring that, the G5 is still better for gaming.
