I just reformatted, and i dont have a anti virus besides windows firewall.
I got ad-ware, but thats only for spyware.

Have you tried reverting it back to internet explorer ? I had trouble doing that ounce it was a pain in the neck for some reason. I think internet e. works fine. But I have to admit firefox is ok.xGBlitzkrieg wrote:

But its not as easy! You have to acces you application data and then copy and paste what you want to keep EX.

AVG, I bought it because it's worth it.

I also use AVG and have been very happy with it. The updates to the definition files, as well as engine updates, are regular. The only thing you don't get with the free version are access to some of the settings that allow you to refine your scans a bit. However, for a free program, it gets high marks in my book.
Note that at one point I had Norton's corporate edition AV software, and I got a virus that it didn't detect. AVG found and eradicated the virus.
