Thats the problem right there maybe.
You need to have a matched set.

yeah, well, 1.3 has increased the load. that barely meets the minimum reqs anyways, doesn't it? we all have lots of crashes midgame anyways. you're not alone man.

No you do not. You only need a matched set if you want your RAM to run in dual channel. There's nothing wrong with not running your RAM in dual channel.

I think it did it on 1.22 a couple times, but at first it worked.

But then it started doing it, like once every week

and its not the connection limit thingy as that one guy just said.

I just reinstalled windows, so i dont have SP2, that only effects SP2.

And its not ram because my 256 ram is 2700 speed and my 512 is 3200 speed.

The slower ram clocks the higher ram down.

So my 512 stick is running at 2700 speed.

Anyways, the game worked fine on 1.22 for a month straight, just 1.3 fucks up alot

It's 1 am, i got the runs, my girlfriend dumped me.

Can someone make my day

Well if he has this set to dual channel its only like running 2x 256mb sticks and it wont use the full potential of the 512mb.

http://www.speedguide.net/read_articles.php?id=1497   there is a download there- windows, for security has limited network traffic, so download the event id patcher and use that program- its really easy and so far for me nothing bad has happened

Crashes all the time or only some of the time? If you did the incremental patch try patching over with the full patch.

An unmatched set still works, just to the potential of the lower card:

256 + 256 = dual channel 512
512 + 256 = dual channel 512
512 +512 = dual channel 1024
etc..

That sounds like a decent system, my buddy runs his on less... Try rolling video driver back, this may help.

So when exactly do these crashes occur?

A crash to desktop with no error message on my machine means something has overheated, most likely the top of my 2 Graphics cards or the CPU directly above them...Summer is here, its hot out. Do you have a way of recording CPU temp? Your Motherboard CD may have come with a program to do so, mine did.

Hope this helps...
