Yeah, i'm getting Quake Wars. 2142 is just a mod of bf2, its using the same engine. Yeah its an 'official' mod, but still just a mod, it's not really a whole new game.

The only way to get EA to listen is to hurt their business. Not with a petition that EA ignores, but with physical money loss. Show them that the BF2 community would support this game for years to come if it would just work right. They're spending thousands of dollars making BF2142, lets make it a complete waste of their time and money. Who's with me?

I think it looks sweet, and you know what, for every copy you boycott, there will be more three people who will get the game along with the others who give second chances
The reason battlefield is hard to patch is because it has difficult code, so to remove the red/blue bug, you need to rewrite massive portions
I am going to guess that thats what they did for 2142, fix the stuff that couldnt be fixed in a patch
Just try the game, come on, give the series a second chance, play it, try some new things

Even though BF2 has 101, I still like it and there are plenty of games it can beat the crap out of.

i am sorry to say this but do you really think EA gives a fuck, just say this boycott works,(which it won't), the amount of money EA make from one game like 2142 is not going to add up to much when you compare it to some of the EA sport titles for instance the next shitty installment of tiger woods. Another reason why this ain't going to work is 2142 will be placed at No1 in the PC game charts in game stores around the world. 2142 might be the worst game in the world but it will still go into the top spot of the Gaming charts because EA will pay companies to put it there. Next thing if EA really were trying to make BF2 shit by putting bugs in the patches to make us stop playing so we will play 2142, don't you think it would be much easier for them to close the servers, so we cant even log in to game, because then we cant play it.
Also i despise EA hate them with a passion, but the only problem there is the fact that they either make or publish nearly every fucking game on the planet they have there fingers in everywhere so i will have to buy an EA game in the long run, and now we get on to the price $50 or for us Brits £30-£35 who gives a fuck really its not that much money i have a feeling that some people on this thread spend more money on alcohol and drugs in one week, at least if you buy 2142 you have something to show for your money unlike the booze or drugs.

Instead of just saying, wah wah, EA are evil, they are making me spend $50 on a new game, give me an actual reason why you want everyone to not buy the latest installment of a game line they have enjoyed playing in the past.

Boycotting aside, I simply won't be buying 2142 as I don't see enough difference to BF2. Perhaps when it's come down in price I'll pick up a copy, but I'm not going to be getting it anytime soon after release!
I wont be buying it for my own reasons just does not seem like anything from the BF series for me... Just my opinion.
