Correct me if I'm wrong, but EA is still earning from licencing people to run ranked servers.

I'm going to play extra long on that day!!!!
FINALLY something happens on my birthday !
Let's think about this for a minute. Do you really think boycotting BF2 for one day will affect anything. The answer is no. Even if your server is down that day... you are still paying for it. You pay for servers by the month. Since your server is up right now means you paid for this month. So EA still gets money that day. By not having any one on your server for one day just waste your own money. So if you are trying to hurt their pocket book, please note that your act is futile.
On the flip side, maybe not playing that day MAY alert them as to why. They may notice that it's been boycotted. But how many people playing the game read up on it. There are probably so many gamers that just game and never read forums and such. So the chance of EVERY server being unpopulated is horribly unlikely.

who even cares? its a game its not gonna change the way you live is it (unless you play BF2 24/7 and have no social life).
Sorry i have to say i completely agree with aardfrift on this one
we have all given our hard earned money to EA they have got what they want they don't care if no one plays the game anymore, its already had all the fantastic reviews, No 1 in PC game charts around the globe, so they got what they wanted. (They got there top selling game AGAIN)
Also with 2142 just around the corner, there's more money for EA to make, many people say they won't buy 2142 but hundreds of people will just because it says BATTLEFIELD on the front cover. SO EA get what they want again.
i am sorry to say i will be playing battlefield this weekend due to the fact its one of the only times i get to play, and i really haven't had any major problems with the 1.3 patch! i can understand why you are doing this and i wish you the best of luck.....

why would EA care. They still have your £30 (or however much you paid for it in whcihever curency)...

Grüße aus Pulheim,

btw, what's this special beer called Kölsch like... ?
If anything, just boycott Battlefield 2142 and Armored Fury! That will get them to listen to you!
it's a bad idea they got our money (i know it's been said) and the majority of people won't listen anyways
See, if you want them to listen, that makes far more sence. The chance that it'll affect them much overall is slim, as some people don't care, and the rest just buy whatever their PC mag tells them to buy, but 'boykott'-ing playing will not accomplish much.xstax981 wrote:
