Is this enough to play BF2

Compaq Presario:

Intel Pentium 4 Processor 640 3.2GHz / HT Technology (2MB L2 Cache 800MHz FSB)
512MB DDR2 RAM
160 GB SATA HDD (7200RPM)
Dual Layer 16 DVD/RW
Nvidia GeFORCE 6600 3D PCI-Express 256MB DDR Video Memory W/DVI Output
Built in Modem & Ethernet LAN
Built in 9 in 1 Card Reader
Built in 7.1 Diital Surround Sound Ready
Microsoft Windows XP Home.
Compaq's Wireless, Optical (Very Clunky/Heavy) Mouse.
Broadband 10mbps

I know it doesn't sound like much, if you're going to post about how suxx0rs my comp is and how uber1337 your's is don't bother, cuz this is for my new place and i can't afford another mega-rig there. I just need to know if its good enough to get BF2 going, i'm not asking for much, smooth play on low/med would do, I can fly helis and jets without lagging in asia servers under 150 ping etc. Anything i need to change?

Yeah... Thanks a lot in advance!

sounds fine to run it but i would say to get more memory. if you want your settings at max i would say get 2 gigs of memory. if not just go with a gig.

That sounds like it would run it fine, but dont ask us. Look at the requirements on the box.

Edit: Aww looks like stun gun beat me

as in RAM? I thought of choosing Kingston 1 GB or Corsair 2 GB but they didn't have it ATM. Bah.

512 should be alright though right?

Yes, ram.  You may get alittle chunking on 512, but not sure.

nothing so terribly bad that the lag bursts would kill me? i won't need this rig for long, so as long as its playable. hell.

You need RAM, and yes you might get some lag that will kill you if you don't.

as for the requirements on the box, those are minimum requirements don't just meet them, meet and excede them.

Don't want to repeat everybody, but RAM RAM RAM! It isn't too expensive for the performance increase it gives you, and you don't want to play BF2 without a gig because it just isn't fun. If you dual-channel a gig, you don't really need more unless you absolutely need to have the uber-graphical experience of SLi-ed 7800 GTX's and an AMD X2 4200+.
