Saw Detroit legend Kenny Larkin today at the Grammy Museum. Unfortunately he had some technical difficulties with his equipment so he cut his set short, but it was still cool to see in person.
All 3 days this weekend I saw 'concerts'. It was my towns "block party" (live music + beer) so on Friday I saw 3 cover bands play that were good enough for some raucous dancing after 5-6 expensive beers.
Same for Saturday except the final band was an all female AC/DC cover band (Hell's Belles, apparently they're relatively well-known?) and the guitarist had done about 2 too many lines of coke so it was entertaining in a different way. Should could fuckin shred though so I guess that's rock-n-roll for ya?
Sunday was an hour of hungover laying in the city park listening to Latin Jazz. We were the youngest people there by 20 years.
