hardware stores used to place retired contractors and such who knew what they were doing in charge of various departments. does anybody still do that, or is it all just mandatory unpaid training, 'team-building,' and stand-in-a-circle pep rally in the break room in 2026. store experience is all ai cameras now and shoplifting barriers that make you question fire codes. trade outlets aren't much better. you can also waste plenty of time on the phone with those guys just to get the wrong part ordered. can be very expensive as well. saw a tool that's a modicum better than home depot junk, but for $50 more. same or worse than the lowes kobalt line, really. the people working at these places don't want to be there about as much as any given amazon grunt with a peccy sticker on their water bottle.

quite recently a big toilet paper facility was burnt to ash buy a guy with pay rate complaints. i don't think people consider this when procuring bog rolls.

i would rather have more wildlife welfare enthusiasts in the world than not. it is curious how the government doesn't really have animal rights in mind much sometimes. see ag gag laws, police chasing activists from public property for filming a canned pigeon shoot with drones, even though the shooter people are the belligerents.

your whole house vs. skyscraper shit is just a big class warfare distraction. we can have both at the same time. whatever fits your lifestyle. food and housing and medicine for everyone. vacation time. parental leaves. renewable power, parks, green belts and animal crossings and wetlands rather than letting every last square foot fall under the dominion of some billion dollar conglomerate. we could be stewards of our own land and constantly nudging society into a better future. all of this, all at once but trump wants trillions of dollars to blow up iran, billionaires want to hoard even more of the country's resources, and solar panel maintenance guys voted republican because gas or something.

a mundane injury like that and the preventative/diagnostic treatment to go along with it should barely cost $15 if anything at all. not $1500. nobody wants to go to the doctor unless a bone is hanging out, and evren then, there are videos of americans haggling over the necessity of ambulances. americans are being scammed. a canadian tried to tell me that at least americans can get an appointment. not true. i know americans who have waited in excess of a year for specialist time slots. and of course the ones who in practice don't even go for basic checkups. i'm sure the canadian system probably has some wrinkles that could use ironed out, but come on.

ideally, obamacare would have brought in foreign experts from countries where this stuff works, and went ahead and shafted the health insurance companies. completely fair i think to hang these businesses out to dry.
