Very weird that the govt is going after multi-generation farmers, mostly white, 'because inter-generational wealth transfer is bad' so farmland and the country side can be built over to allow an increasing population, much of it immigration, to build inter-generational wealth 'because inter-generational wealth transfer is good'.

iran was more or less a contained entity before you embarked on this war. now they are the de facto owners of the strait of hormuz, the gulf allies are cowed and wary of getting too close to US-israel, europe thinks diplomacy with trump is practically impossible and the US is no longer a dependable ally, and the world generally is aware of the importance of actors like china in mediating global oil supplies and absorbing supply shocks. further, we've had a practical demonstration that the world system of trade and supply can tick along nicely trading in renminbi.
