Are you a registered Democrat? I think I am the only one here who is.

Trump not only won the EC. He won the popular vote. Many of the people Democrats advocated for stayed home. Many others actually defected and voted for Trump.

This is what people wanted. Maybe when the economy goes into recession there will be a swing back to the Democrats. That I expect. But what will even be the point?

Working class and blue collar voters don't identify with the Democrats. That is supposed to be the base. It isn't anymore. Where do we go now?

The discussions around the event included necessary stakeholders. The Sec. D. didn't just bypass all of them. The discussion including Vance's concerns were rational and showed that they are thinking about the consequence of their actions. The fact that Vance openly disagreed with it also shows that there are still some people who are taking the position seriously and not just looting the government like Musk and others.

I also noticed that the Doge cuts and other stuff has toned down since there was a disagreement in the cabinet meeting between Musk, Rubio and the Transportation secretary. I think the administration realized that moving too quick was destabilizing everything including the stock market.
