imagine if your kitchen counters were sold based on the idea that they were sort of yours, but the terms of the subscription model were vague to begin with, got changed, and now this vastly gigantic cabinet company kicked down your door to to strip them away and replace them with particleboard with a business-grey surface. you cannot opt out, and you cannot get a refund.

one of your appliance's manufacturers was sold to a foreign company and in the process your extended warranty with lifetime premium super-duper membership account information was lost in translation. you can't get it back, and there's no way to tell if they just don't want to uphold your old agreement with the previous company, and you can't get a refund.

all this innovative stuff that could continue to be incredibly game-changing, just turned into so much raw sewage with a few strokes of the pen. amazon should be forced to refund every last ebook they've ever sold and eat the cost.

…or reenable downloads.

Set in the near future when artificial organs can be bought on credit, it revolves around a man who struggles to make the payments on a heart he has purchased. He must therefore go on the run before said ticker is repossessed.

Stock market has been trending downward for the entirety of Trump's second term. We are even down from November when he won.

GDP forecast for Q1 are actually negative. Almost 3% decline. The forecast beforehand wa 2.5% growth but instead we have a decline. Lol

I don't know what the off ramp is going to be. Our political system doesn't have snap elections so we are stuck with this administration for 4 years. In 2 years we could have congress change but Musk and the administration will probably fight it to the death.

who would have guessed that introducing tariffs on your biggest trading partners of 25% or whatever would cause a recession?!

musk and co. want to derail the economy. it will give them further justification for deeper cuts, more downsizing of government, more deletion of regulations and cutting of red tape. they will repackage the pain they're purposefully inflicting on the populace as 'necessary medicine', and suggest upping the dose. total state capture by their own private corporate interests is basically the aim.

Seth Abramson has an interesting theory:

I think ol' Seth is giving all the players a little too much credit in the conspiracy he weaves, but enough of it makes sense to seriously consider it.

The stock market is melting down. Crazy seeing years worth of gains just disappear.

Made a few thousand today shorting tesla. Already exercised the options. Going to see if it bumps up a little bit tomorrow and then probably short again. Tesla death spiral incoming. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving scumbag.

Pity the poor people who actually bought a Tesla to try to save the planet.

Musk could not only lose all the value he has in Tesla stock, couldn't he be sued for value destruction?

There was an item on CNBC - who seem like free market nuts most of the time - questioning whether its right that he's letting chinese investors take secret stakes in Spacex.

not to mention that the super-rich like musk practically live off the leverage from their stocks. it's a house of cards.

Pity the poor people who actually bought a Tesla to try to save the planet.
lmao, yeah right. that's really why all those tech-bros and musk goobers bought into the tesla brand.

didn't prius corner the market of concerned liberals and eco-warriors almost 10 years before tesla?

I think the collapse in Tesla is a sign of a coming recession. The stock represents the hopes and dreams of many men across the western world. All of the inflows to Tesla and related ETFs are interconnected. Millennials who can't afford homes or kids are instead putting it in stocks every month. The fact that they are pulling out of the market means they are probably also cutting back on consumer spending etc.

many signs a recession is coming, but i think collapses in stock prices normally burn your casual investor. 20-somethings trying to shortcut to housing deposits aren't the smartest investors, imho.

especially that particular type of young guy who is deeply - and emotionally - invested in brands like tesla or things like crypto. they typically won't be selling off shares in the short term because they have that in-group mentality of riding things 'to the moon' or whatever it is in their dumb /r/wallstreet parlance.

it's a major problem in korea, incidentally. the only way to ever buy an apartment in the greater seoul area is through stocks or second incomes/personal businesses on the side. huge problem when the first crypto wave crashed; a lot of over-exposed and debt-riddled young people whose salaries won't even cut 25% of the funds needed to survive independently thesedays.

OK, so my shares are down, A$ is down so I win there as I still have GBP, overall about even, what happened to my month's pay though?
Strange.

I'll start thinking about rebuying the shares I sold six months ago, I'm not bad at picking a peak, not brave enough to sell everything, quite bad at holding off rebuying until bottom, usually rebuy too early.
Most of my massive gains have been from dividends so don't follow me for hot stock tips.
