the question is, what are the wise men bringing as gifts? i have some old usb cables and proprietary power bricks somewhere i'm pretty sure.
I am stealing that story. Thanks
I kept my classroom Christmas tree up. I replaced the Christmas lights and decorations with a red lights and Valentine's Day stuff. It is now a Valentine's Day tree.
I am going to put green lights for Saint Patrick's Day. Blue for Easter. Orange for Halloween/Thanksgiving. Just decorate it differently for each holiday.
I think it is actually a really cool idea. Having a permanent holiday tree that you decorate for different events.

people have done this for a long time. get rgb lights and just press a button to change it to whatever given holiday.
it's probably a bit tacky, though, and those artificial trees collect dust like crazy.

That's a great idea about the lights.
A classroom is the perfect place to have tacky and wacky stuff.

I built a cat shelter. I used a plastic container, tarps, and other shit.
I protect the cats. I feed and take care of them.
I also take plenty of photos and post it online for clout. This is part of my PR strategy.

Do you feel threatened by AI?
image results for search engines coming up with a whole lot of ai slop these days. not to brag, but i've developed the skill of being able to suss out the slop in tiny thumbnails. could never have predicted that particular skill in the 90s. i've taken design and i can't even explain how i can tell it apart from other forms of media jank. maybe it's just more holistically bad.
My dummy MAGA assistant said she doesn't feel bad for teachers. "You guys work only 180 day a year." This was after she was complaining about only making $25,000 a year. Crab in a bucket mentality
htf does someone actually work in education and still think "you teachers only work 180 days a year." i barely brushed with that job after getting sucked into administrative grunt work while still in school and learned that preconception was absolute hogwash.
I think she doesn't see the work we do when we get home. She just leaves and is done for the day. I need to go home, submit grades, lesson plan, and do reports.
if she doesn't know, she's the one who's coasting. i literally spent time in the building after school hours slapping together stuff on access and excel, as a non-employee. practically, unpaid internship at that point.
That's awesome you had that opportunity. It gave you some office work experience. I roped a student into doing something like that a few years ago. They loved the experience.

it would have been nice to have gotten some money for it but it was an interesting peek into some of the inner workings and let me call in favors later. i'd have done it again.
if you make it out, apply for refugee status
I'm planning on going to DC in late summer. For vacation, but maybe it will turn into a revolution by the time we get to September.RTHKI wrote:
