Leaving your phone at home can be a quite liberating experience. Possibly risky with the lack of payphones, but the things are literal balls and chains. I don't even use my phone terribly often. For some it might be like leaving your right arm behind.

I have seen Youtube ads now that they blocked adblockers.
Some crazy/stupid stuff on that site. Ads for crypto, websites to meet Asian women, and the occasional PSA about STDs. Those STD ones really bother me. I am not sure if that is because Youtube just sends those out to people of my age group and gender or if Google is reading my data and thinks I need help or if it is a sign from God.
Either way, every time I have a cough or sneeze or get some kind of body ache I think "Well this is it. I got AIDs. They are going to put my ass on a blanket. I will be remembered with a quilt."

still no yt ads for me. try a different browser/blocker. the only ones i get are burnt into the uploaded content, because duh.

I got bamboozled by a homeless lady.
I was heading to my car after work.
A toothless homeless lady approached me and asked for some money to get food.
I pulled out my wallet to give her money. I was going to give her a $5 bill I had. When I pulled out my wallet she asked for $20. Said something about buying cat food.
I looked around my wallet and didn't have a $20. I just had a 10, a 5, and some singles. I gave her a $10.
She said thank you and practically ran away from me.
I didn't even get a hug or "God bless you." To make things worse two of my students were walking by.
One of them laughed and said "is that your girlfriend?"
I am somewhat annoyed by that since that kid and I had a bad run in during the school today. The hall monitor I was chatting with gave the kid a hard time. The kid was cutting class and was rude to the hall monitor. The hall monitor asked for the student's information since the kid ignored him and walked away.
I went out of my way to give the hall monitor the kid's info to write him up. Then the kid dunked on me after work because of a greedy homeless person.

if the kid in your story ever matures, the hurtful, uncharitable things he told people as a teenager may randomly creep into his thoughts and keep him awake at night way more than any regret you should feel palming $10 over to a random homeless woman who didn't hug you.

i think this could be looked at like amazon reviews. people should be less suspicious of a many times rated 4.9 than a straight up 5. jesus himself probably couldn't pull off a perfect 5 after so many trips without jedi mind tricks. no way you don't encounter at least one driver who doesn't grok your vibe.

I read on the Uber subs that 5 star riders are red flags since it means they are new uber users and may not know how to act. If I do buy something on Amazon I will sooner trust the 5000 reviews rating it a 4.7 than 200 reviews giving a 5.

Opened a claim with my insurance when a bill that is normally $20 was $150. I asked why and they called me and said "oh it's normally supposed to be $150, you've been paying way too little this entire time". Now they're doing a full audit and I may owe ~$1,800 because they're fucking stupid.

I put on a coat I had for awhile. It is a large. It feels too big. There is like an air vent under it. I lost weight.

Read about that movie. I'm all for cheesy low budget body horror stuff, and can usually look past directors or cast being reportedly arrogant pricks on set for the fact that a movie is a team effort, but this sounds unappealing to me. Watching a bunch of people stand around and get cgi wrinkles. Kids age rapidly and one gets pregnant? wtf, Shyamalan?

Its 10 years old and well used, the zoom was starting to get squeaky, it had been written off against tax and I've bought the latest model so I'd have a clean unit to connect to the secure system at work.
Still annoying.
I can get a new LCD for $30 off ebay and I'll probably have to machine a new LCD cover.
