The 85 Inch 4K TV is too powerful for the 3080. I tried playing a 720p video and it was choppy. I was surprised.
tldr blah blah make sure your cable can handle the bandwidth (try another, or shorter cable), but more likely check tv mfg for awareness of an issue or a firmware update. check with tech support. hdmi 2.1 cable might help somehow but you shouldn't need it unless you're trying to drive 8k?
I just bought a 75 inch TV for my new place and it's absurdly large. I can't imagine having an 85 inch TV in my room.

Mac may actually be close to the updated recommended size:distance ratio for 4k. For 1080 it would have been absurd iirc. Still looks too big for the wall and is crowding the corner, so distracting.
I just had chatGPT write me a job description for a role I'm hiring for. I give it a B-, which is probably a better score than I'd give our HR department if I let them write it.
The future is now!
Seriously though, there is a huge use-case for using AI for mundane office stuff like creating contract boilerplates, job descriptions, maybe even basic training requirements.

There is a lot of potential for AI to automate a lot of mundane drone functions and (hopefully) move us closer to a post-scarcity economy, but I really don't like the grey area plagiarism esp. for art.
I tried using it to create a World War 2 exam. It worked.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

ChatGPT is a lot of fun when you ask it to write stories using famous characters. For example "Write a story where the characters of Final Fantasy 7 rescue Biden from Terrorist."
How in the fuck is the battery capacity of a brand new ipod worse than a 10 year old failing ipod
Fuck me.
Fuck me.

My aughts flip phone could last weeks without a charge. My smartphone can last maybe a week if I don't turn it on. I attribute this to the newer devices being more demanding. Ideally, something like an ipod should be able to last a workday without needing to be plugged in. Carry a battery pack, I guess. Kind of clunky, but oh well.

Changed the CPU battery on my XP box, a bit disappointed it only lasted 19 years.
The boot issues seem to have improved, coincidence?

I had a question and decided it was better to ask ChatGPT than to Google it.
ChatGPT is so strong. It can write letters, short stories, lesson plans and test on obscure subjects. It even wrote me an outline of an obscure teacher training book.
The question I asked "Can illegal immigrants join labor unions?" The response was really good and much better than I got from Google.

It sounded right and gave me a more detailed answer than Google's top results. You make a good point though.
Have you tried using it yet?

YouTube is absolute shit when it comes to trying to find original videos. I want to see the full video of the guy that got choked on the subway so I can make my own decision. All of the YouTube videos are reaction pieces either from YouTube people or major news outlets though. I genuinely cannot find the original video.
You should make a reaction video to you trying to search for the original video. Make the thumbnail your gasping face and put lots of emoji's in the title
Wwwwwhat's going on, my goblin army, it's ya boy mac here with a-NOTHER reaction to internet violence. Google search 'Youtube man choked on subway' then the videos button
Google search works far better than youtube search

Work laptop was down for three days, replacement had basically outlook and office and few network drives.
IT guy moved all my onedrive synced folders onto my desktop, and my 'documents' which were just backup junk and working areas into onedrive.
This caused various conflicts and fuckups.
Today I learned that the only way to delete anything from onedrive is to delete it from the online version first - which will take a while to feed through - otherwise it will keep reappearing - unless its in a folder synced via teams in which case if one person deletes it its immediately deleted from every location.
My god what a stupid system.

You can host AI Chat bots on high end GPU. My 3080 could process BF2s.
My school upgraded to 2022 MacBook Airs. They don't have USB 1. Just two USB C ports. Also the fancy MagSafe 3 charger is not compatible with the older MagSafe 2 Chargers. So I needed to buy a new charger. In my opinion, the slight variation in shape of the chargers exist purely to get people to buy new chargers from Apple.
And that's what I did. I bought a new backup charger to have at home. $50 Cable and $35 plug. I could have gotten cheaper non-Apple ones but I just don't trust those things with my fancy new MacBook air. I am sure many owners of these (expensive) things feel the same way.
My USB 1 laser pointer clicker needed an adapter. My wireless mouse needed an adapter. Instead of ordering adapters that stick out the side of the MacBook I decided to just buy some Logitech Bluetooth ones. Hopefully Apple doesn't introduce Bluetooth 2.0 at some point.
I got this $99 mouse. I saw it and decided to just keep it on my home PC and in fact use an adapter on my old mouse. This is too fancy to leave out at work.
$200 worth of accessories for my new MacBook.

Yeah but it is my Steam account I am going to install on it.RTHKI wrote:

It does sound like a reasonable thing you would say
Just rebuild the page file? Go into settings, select "no page file", reboot (which will clear it out), then go back into settings and reset it to what it was
