no one cared who I was until I put on the mask
Your a big guy
How are you doing, mac?
Pretty good. Work is going really well. Staying busy. Thanks for asking. How are you?
'livin the dream'
You guys are recreating every conversation I have at work.
How are those TPS reports coming?
this was me (in my head) yesterday https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9wsjroVlu8
Right on cue, just now I heard:
person1: "Hey how's it going"
person2: "It's almost friday"
p1: "One more day, hang in there"
Pretty sure I live in the worlds most boring sitcom

It's Time for the Scientific Community to Admit We Were Wrong About COVID and It Cost Lives | Opinion

Manages to say very little in a lot of text. Sweeping blame against "the experts" for alienating people, dismissing valid complaints (whatever those are, it doesn't specify) and pushing the Common Man towards conspiracy theories. Neglects to dig into the whats, whys, and whens.
I think a lot could be written along these lines, that better effort could have been put into inclusivity, accessibility. I'd agree that the blame of an unvaccinated blue collar man dying of covid can be partially laid on failures in communication strategy, but I don't accept that people were forced to get their medical opinion on covid vaccines from social media and sketchy blogs (things that more directly cost lives, taking advantage of the fact that people like to be told they're right and smart).

Since COVID is now just a flu in the sense you get a shot for it once a year and you will be fine...people survivors are looking back on the whole thing as not a big deal. I will never forget this dude who is younger than me getting smoked by COVID.
His lungs can't be any worse than mine. 420 blaze it.
Fuck Israel
COVID is now just the flu. COVID, the flu, and the common cold. They are all the same thing really. We need to eliminate one of the 3. Three is too many.
We should rename COVID bat flu. That way we still have just two just the cold and the flu. Then we forget COVID even happened. Historians can call it the Bat Flu pandemic in order to not confuse people.

Spanish flu was called spanish flu - we should maintain the canon and call it China flu.
Fuck Israel
the first documented case of the spanish flu was in usa.
why? covid-19 is caused by a coronavirus. flu is caused by influenza viruses.SuperJail Warden wrote:

OK, lets call it Chinese Coronavirus, or the Fauci Plague
Fuck Israel
How about COVID-19? Coronavirus disease 2019. Descriptive enough for you? No unhelpful geographical stigma that causes people to get assaulted. That was the old way. And no clever nicknames that are basically slur.
Side note, origins studies remain inconclusive afaik. But people would read a hypothetical, core it as fact, and would not budge when presented with new data. Sad. Caused lots of headaches for captive audiences of conspiracy theories.

With the usual caveat that a rightwing rag with notoriety for low factuality in its reporting should probably not be leaned upon too much without much support from journals and more reliable publications.
The Mail is a somewhat right-wing rag but I'm not aware it has 'notoriety for low factuality in its reporting'.
I imagine the documents from the Department of Defense would speak for themselves, never mind 'The Journals' which didn't exactly cover themselves with glory over the Wuhan Militarised Bat Flu.
Its been known for years that Daszak would divert money from grants which were granted to do work on projects which were rejected but which he went ahead with anyway.
