Si if I understand the FTX situation, the exchanges make money by loaning money to people to buy crypto. I could have sworn that practice was banned for stocks in the 1930s but whatever. The gains made by crypto were explosive for awhile but eventually the started to deflate, and the loans went bad. People also liquidated their assets on the exchange not unlike a run on a failed bank. There is no FDIC for crypto.
That doesn't seem like a Ponzi Scheme but instead a failure of regulation. What seems worrisome is the billion that may have been embezzled and used for trades on the founder's girlfriend fund. That is pretty much what happens with a lot of people with gambling addictions and access to money that isn't theirs.

stock exchanges normally make money by either 1. charging trade fees 2. selling trade flow data or 3. some become straight market makers and make money that way (aka citadel).
Yes, this is also a complete failure of regulators for doing absolutely fuck all with crypto since ever cos well, 'don't stifle innovation'. somehow you slap the tech words onto something and its somehow innovative, not just another financial instrument dressed up in different clothing.

Thanks. It has also been a great learning experience. I haven't been in a relationship in so long that I need to learn how to have a mature adult relationship. I don't think the girl I am with is my 'forever' but it definitely is good practice for my 'forever' when I find them.
All of the hooking up with other girls built up my confidence. I feel great about who and what I am if I was able to find so many girls who wanted to be a part of it all. I don't feel trapped, stuck, or feel like I am settling. I think men who complain about "hookup culture" and online dating are doing so out of frustration and lack of success. You can find plenty of casual hookups and also plenty of girls who want boyfriends. The system is fine.
The part about reducing stress is very real too. I still need to finish up some graduate stuff in the spring before I start work on my leadership degree. One stable partner is better than trying to juggle three.
I have also come to better respect women and what they have to deal with.
