What a joke
i mean, that's obvious a scam or phishing campaign ... to quote your own words, "yeah, that's nice and all, but what does that have to do with vast amounts of the UK population living in effective poverty?" your average person facing destitution or problems with heating this winter isn't sending unsolicited messages to people asking for £8k.

you sound like such a tory lmao. gospel of wealth from nicky boy. 'the poor deserve their lot, let us successful people buy nice things because we work so hard'.

you are literally a part of this party. your bunch of highly intelligent natural born winners just torpedo'd the economy through an unforced error. leg before wicket mate. poor people's mortgages are going to skyrocket because of your little libertarian darling. and your response is to quote some random, meaningless scam message? i know that you aren't actually this clueless, dauntless.

I didn't say the poor deserve their lot, but yeah whatever anyone wants to buy with their money is completely up to them. I've literally had strangers come up to me in the street when I'm in my car and tell me that I'm a tax dodge and don't pay enough tax? Yeah ok mate.... what the fuck? Why would they presume to know what I pay or don't pay.
Hope those guys can't pay their heating bills.

i mean, it's literally your bad. you're a paying member of the 86,000 who voted for this leader. lmao. the other 70 million odd didn't have a say.

and the reason your golf club of 86k voted for truss over sunak is because she kept promising she'd radically cut taxes. weren't you saying the entire time during the leadership contest that you want your taxes to come down? well, she cut taxes for the affluent and sank the economy in about 2 days. lol.

nobody is blaming the individuals for purchasing nice things. that's obviously what people with disposable income do.

but people are resentful at inequality and manifestly unfair systems, of course. society isn't working for the majority.

and that majority aren't composed mostly of email scammers and wastemen in the street who want to shout at you.

Well Labour had their chance at the last general election and fucked it 🤷‍♂️

Personally I wanted Jeremy Hunt in charge but he went out in the first round.

well you quickly brushed aside the huge numbers of people who are facing poverty this winter to talk about a spam email you got once. 'what a joke'. talk about a lack of proportion. your party have actively made life worse for people this winter. but hey there's some scroungers out there who are expecting a big pot of money for free! ey nick?!

Personally I wanted Jeremy Hunt in charge but he went out in the first round.
probably because all of his colleagues, after years of working with him, know that he's a talentless berk.

this the same jeremy hunt who made a total hash of being the health minister? a privatized NHS is your thing?

Er, I don't know what you mean brushed aside.

I only had the option of Liz or Rishi... out of the two I think you also preferred Liz too as Rishi was too... Indian?

Things are a mess right now sure but who knows how bad things would be if Corbyn was in charge.

I've put significantly more tax into the the system and public services than most people so I'd say I've made things better. How much are you contributing to the UK economy m8?

Hunt didn't try to privatise the NHS

who knows how bad things would be if corbyn were in charge indeed ... what a disaster that would be! we could have nationalised the energy companies instead of spaffing £60bn up the wall for no return or stake. remember how much the tabloids shat themselves about labour's proposed spending? looks like a drop in the bucket compared to the spiralling costs the tories have just added to the balance sheet .

i pay my taxes just the same as you do. or are you saying that your political opinion should be worth more because you earn a bit more money than i do? lol interesting theory of democracy there, chump. no wonder you look down on the little poor people. if only they could win a lottery and live at home for most of their 20s, eh?

yes, hunt did try to privatise the NHS, or at least turbo-charged the privatisation-by-the-backdoor that had been ongoing for most of the last decade. read a book. there's a reason that hunt was considered 'out in the cold' and polling bottom on leadership contests. that's because people remember the hash he made of his last job. when he left as health secretary the NHS was performing markedly worse on almost every single KPI, including staff morale.

the british medical association declared, for 3 successive years, that the winter crises of the (pre-covid) hunt years, 2017, 2018 and 2019, were the “worst on record”.

but ok! he's your man! too bad he's already stated he's not going to run for leader.

Again, not what I said. You pay tax but you don't contribute anything to the local economy and businesses here do you?

That's completely your call but don't tell me I'm making things worse here, lol

From what I have read, healthcare systems are being privatized the world over. Providing care to the ever longing living old is very expensive. 🫰

but that’s precisely why trickle down didn’t work the first time and why cutting taxes for the top rate of earners won’t work this time.

they don’t go shopping in their ‘local economy’ with the made-off gains. the entire idea that you’re keeping a few local english stores afloat is pretty laughable when extrapolated to an entire class of people. they buy foreign luxury goods and enlist offshoring experts.

or are you going to buy a division C football team and keep a squad of hungry young peckham boys in business this winter?

here’s something else you should read.

america spends more per person on it’s private healthcare then anywhere else on earth by quite a margin, and has decidedly mid-table performance.

the NHS was widely considered one of the 2-3 best-performing healthcare systems in the world, on multiple metrics, all of a decade or so ago. that’s by polling healthcare professionals too not the public for their flag-waving opinion.

https://www.internationalinsurance.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/ranking-11-best-international-healthcare-countries.png

privatisation does the opposite of introduce efficiencies and promote better performance. another handy myth of the neoliberal dogma kit. who knew?

almost every advanced western country is facing an ageing (and increasingly ailing) society. social care, pensions and nursing budgets are bloating. but there’s more than one way to deal with that. and letting a bunch of beady-eyed little weasels like jeremy cunt stripmine highly enviable institutions and divvy up the private contracts between his mates is not the way.

the conservatives have tried the same rhetorical trick with public schools too, trying to expedite switching them into ‘academies’ ran by rich tory nobs.

Aus comes out OK.

Every time I've taken someone to A+E here I've been astounded at how slowly everyone moves.
No two staff members seemed able to pass each other in a corridor without stopping for 10 minutes to tell each other how incredibly busy they were and had no time to do anything.
Ambulance ramping is a big problem here and I'd put the responsibility firmly on the A+E staff.

Also I think I overheard a neurosurgeon talking about how hard it was to trepan your own head, fun times.

its almost like privatization just shifts the burden of payment and its almost like a wholesale purchaser like a government who can set prices is probably better controlled than private entities.

If I was a prepubescent Spiderman-enjoyer, or one of those oddly thorough middle-aged comic book collectors, I'd probably think that watch was very cool. Seems like a narrow window though, also for the badges that would most likely be worn by a Disney park manager or comic con speaker. The other stuff on that site is mad, so much Disney promotion. You'd have to be an absolute fanatic.

I'm not a huge fan of roughly hewn/crafted precious metals, or the lack of design uniformity in some of these bracelet charms (even when from the same maker). It has to be intentional, but I'm not sure why. I've seen paperclips bent into more interesting forms.

Oh I just looked at Pandora's website. All of the Spiderman stuff makes sense. Tom Holland is dating his stylish hip costar Zendaya. The stuff is clearly marketed to her fans.

Apart from promo material, I've been through catalogs of charms before. 20 years after CRT monitors are generally phased out, a computer hobby charm is still *checks notes* a CRT screen and a low-definition keyboard. Why would you order such a cheap-looking thing in silver or gold?

I don't know how you can even keep track of who's playing spiderman anymore. There's what, like two movies a year?

2023 Subaru Outback Wilderness edition. Finally pulled the trigger. I think I'm going to keep my Corolla as a daily driver. It only has 115k miles on it and still runs great. FWP time: I have a 2 car garage and one spot is for my gf's car so the corolla will have to sit outside
I picked this up last night. So far so good but the technology and integration is a bit annoying. I now have 2 apps for my car 🙄

One is just a aubaru service app. The other is their starlink app. So far all I know is that I can remotely start, lock, unlock, send basic commands, etc.

The Level 2 ADAS is nice too, I suppose.
