It looks like a cheap office chair wearing a plastic exoskeleton for Halloween.

Really? It isn't particularly evocative of that. Even the plastic casters look cheap.

only an american from new jersey could ever confuse something so pinchbeck for ‘royal style’.

It is expensive. $4000. That is over £4000 at the moment. How can you not acknowledge quality in this age of supply chain disruption?

a lot of things are expensive but they're not tasteful or classy. being able to discriminate between flashy and expensive and genuine quality is the whole point of 'fine taste'. that chair is a confusion of styles, modern tat pretending at eminence. and how out of place would that look in your room with the triple monitors and discarded vape pens?

and the idea that royalty or someone with a discerning taste in interior design would choose to sit in that ... which looks like the cross between the dashboard of a mid-range 1990s sedan and a golfclub's member's bar ... is laughable.

i'd rather get a $1500 herman miller chair and pay for good ergonomics and space-age materials.

There's no way that mac was actually serious about that though to begin with. I refuse to believe it.

You could easily find more personality and history in an antique four-legged desk chair if that's what you were going for, but it would as with the above look weird by a desk covered in monitors. Such a thing I would maybe put in a home library with a writing desk, neither screen nor LED anywhere in sight.

it is entirely american to pay $4000 for a chair that is supposed to connote 'old world' class and stolidity but instead looks like something added in haste to a minor booster pack for The Sims.

It pains me to admit that you aren't wrong, but everything above seems to scream that mac's pulling our legs.

My lady best friend that I work with wants to hook me up with the school librarian. "She is single and into internet dating." She invited her over to hang out today and will probably bring me up since she introduced us before. I didn't even think of the girl until the my friend brought her up as available. The librarian was giving my department a  presentation. I was watching her and thinking "Yeah, I would hit that. I probably could love bomb that girl."

This is how I got wrapped up with the substitute teacher. Another teacher thought "Let's hook up Macbeth with (substitute)." This is the curse and privilege of working in a female dominated field.

"As of data from 2018, 76% of teachers are female, up from 66.9% in 1981."
I am going to pursue the librarian.

"11 Wild Tinder Moments From the Savage World of Online Dating"

I know it is blog spam but still. It reminds me of some of the craziness that women tell me they experience in online dating.

From what I understand...women have more options and can pick and choose their matches. Once matched up though their experiences can vary widely and oftentimes is bad because women still suffer in this country.

It gets worse the longer you read it. Knows very well that he's asking for the impossible/obsolete but still wants to whine and complain about how he isn't getting it.

Translation: "I want a broodmare that does all the 1950s household woman stuff. Nonworking, needs to be dependent on my dime and whim for survival. Also, I'm a nice guy, why are all the women on dating platforms like you?"

Submissive = "Conform to my desires, also I won't change any of my bad habits, so you'll just have to put up with those."

Would instantly add to blocked and warn off friends. Concerned that someday, this guy is going to do a mass shooting.

I could see Macbeth parroting many of those same points. In fact I'm sure I could find comments on bf2s that mimicked many of those statements. I know the "single mother" and "not submissive" are two topics that have been discussed.

TBH, your screencap is kind of mac-ish. I don't know if it's something you'd text a woman, but it's definitely something you'd drop here.

A lot of these manosphere complaints focus on what women owe them, or what women can do for them, and are seriously lacking in navel-gazing about their own assets. I mean it's not like there aren't women who are like "6'+ or nty" but a lot of men are also fat, gross, shallow, and frankly monotonous.

It does sound like something I would get high and write about. Definitely wouldn't tell a lady any of that shit. In fact there are a lot of things I don't drop on ladies. Frankly, I find it pretty easy to not drop lunatic stuff on them. Truly, I don't understand some dudes.

I am a big believer that if you want someone to look at and touch your private parts, you need to put in the work and make yourself into a person with that somebody would want to touch.

I guess it is unfair that a guy would need to build themselves up just to be loved by another person. But life is full of unfairness. Be grateful your soul wasn't put into a kitten with cancer.

I'm sure you could date someone you perceive as lower than your standards without having to "build yourself up" that much.

Women put work into themselves too. It helps if you don't want to be a person someone will just "settle for" later on.

You make it sound like building yourself up is a bad thing.

Why do you hate self-improvement?

My perspective is that you should look at improving yourself as a way to make yourself a better person, and that potentially attracting women as a result is a byproduct of said improvement.

Every day I try to be a better person than I was yesterday. Sometimes I fail, but it is a good way for me to make sure I'm continuously improving. Self-kaizen master!

What is the point of doing anything if not for a reward? Improvement for its own sake is not very Catholic of you.

Self-improvement is usually rewarding. Expanding your interests can make you a more interesting person and keep other hobbies from becoming dull. Learning to cook more than TV dinners opens the way to tastier, healthier food. Getting and staying fit has all kinds of self-centered benefits.

Listening to my little sister sad about the dying cat makes me realize what an immature bitch the 25 year old girl at work is. I showed Ken pictures of her and he sad she looks immature. I get that now.

We spent all summer school flirting, trading gifts, sharing secrets, leaving work together/escaping from the other teachers while working to "take a walk." Putting on a show of flirting in front of the other teachers. Annoying the others. |"We are going to go to lunch early because we have to pick something up." "Have fun! haha"| "(almost hyperventilating) Macbeth is so wonderful. He is always knows exactly what to say and he listens so well." "Yeah he is really great at following a conversation... " And on and on. Definitely immature for a lady to encourage their male coworker. Doubly so in front of the other teachers. God knows we all gossip because we are high schoolers in grown up bodies.

Anyway...back to the dead cat. The last day of work the 25 year old came over to my place to smoke marijuana. She lives with her boyfriend. The boyfriend had to put his childhood cat to sleep the day before and was messed up obviously. She still had to make sure he didn't go anywhere so he can be home to walk the dog while she got high and talked about her dreams and beliefs with the male coworker who was obviously coming onto her. A whole series of immature and bad decisions for her that could have ended up really badly. Her boyfriend's cat is going to die and she is scheming to get high with a guy she has an inappropriate and unprofessional work relationship with. First year with the district and she is being goofy with me in front of the others workers I am tight with. She already has trouble getting along with people. Now she has this work issue too and the gossip. If she does summer school again I am going to end up being her supervisor.
