From what I can piece together from the short clip and comments, this is more the fault of poor communication than "concealed carry/gun nut culture."
- Apparently the female deputy had given him permission to support until a second deputy arrived? Was dispatch informed? Did the second deputy know? - Was he disarmed at the time he was shot? It looked like she grabbed the gun away. - Who shouted "he's got a gun in his hand pointing at people?" Part of what got the dude shot, I think. On-site swatting.
I remember reading about that, but didn't see a clip. Gonna have to get his next plantsitting gig signed and notarized, lol.
That said, I don't know how cut and dry this is. Does Alabama require you to carry an ID if you aren't driving? If not, I expect they're going to at least want name, address, and reason for being there since they're approaching you with what they say is reasonable suspicion. Although the responder didn't exactly introduce himself. Pastor says he used to be a cop, so he shouldn't he be familiar with this stuff?
The person who called stating that there's a suspicious person poking around is partly to blame here, imo, but I don't have the transcript of that phone call (sometimes these things get miscommunicated to responding officers).
The weirdness about dogs/cats is mostly where my early days post about how "animals are property" came from.
I absolutely hate the "I care about animals more than people." Weirdo. Are you that much of a pussy that you can't be around other people?
I hate the fact that you can get killed and get special charges for hurting a police dog or horse.
The bipolar 25 year old has a cat and an Instantagram for her dog. She takes pride in taking care of it while also going around causing humans to cry. There you go.
I have never hit a woman or even shaked them. But she definitely seems like the kind of girl who would make a guy shake her for doing someone stupid while also babying an animal that has no clue what is going on.
Got to show love and support while also living in a pet store. Dog hair floating around the home. Come home from work and there is shit on the floor you need to clean up. You can't sleep in or go party because you need to walk the dog before it shits somewhere.
The police have no qualms about hashtagging a chihuahua to punctuate an argument.
Why your manic swing on dogs just now? Weren't you just saying like a month ago how having a dog was a sign of being well adjusted and made for quality 'gram? You still haven't delivered on photos with someone else's dog in the pet thread.

I don't recall that. Either way I will never own a pet. I don't want my apartment to smell like dog or cat piss like most pet owners. Constantly got to clean up hair and muck before guest come over. Give your house guest an allergy attack since there is cat hair floating around the place. You can't touch anything because the cat rubbed itself on it.
every person who owns multiple pet's place smells like that animal. the pet owners just don't realize it. you can't have a bunch of animals live in a closed space and not fume up the place. humans do it too. "your sheets smell like you."
i have automatics spray air fresheners. every 9 minutes it sprays scent into the air. i can only smell it when i walk in the door. if i am sitting around inside, i won't smell it at all. happens to pet owners. they get used to the smell and don't pick it up but people who visit will.
re: slides, I haven't found a single decent pair in years. decent being all waterproof/resistant. All the ones I've found in stores or online have that layer of material or padding underneath the top strap, or some configuration of velcro, that absorb water, get cold, and never dry off, making them inconvenient for the beach or the showers. Even for walking about, they tend to collect grit and dust.
My old Nikes have none of these things, but are completely worn out. My new ones don't have any material or padding underneath the strap (the only ones in the store like that), but velcro-fasten and the glue on one of them has lost strength, making them practical only for walking around the house. If I knew then what was coming, I'd have bought like a dozen pairs.
My wish to shoe manufacturers: stop putting a bunch of unnecessary junk on your slides. At least have an option for water-friendly slides that you can just clean with a garden hose and will air dry in like a minute after being shaken out.
