High risk? From a haircut?

This shouldn't be hard to wrap a mind around. The vaccines reduce (though not 100% prevent) your chances of getting seriously ill, and you can still get mildly ill if you catch the virus anyway. Holding off on something as inconsequential by comparison as a haircut during a 'rona wave makes sense, does it not?

shaggy hair > the symptoms

Strange, according to the govt here - which is to say the Qantas CEO - you can sit with someone unmasked for four hours with no chance of catching covid.
Unless uziq's haircut is going to take more than four hours there's no risk at all.

a high risk of getting sick in some form, from getting a haircut, yes ... hairdressers are normally some of the last businesses to have restrictions relaxed, as well as dentists and so on. having someone in close contact to your face for 45+ minutes generally poses a pretty 'high risk' of transmission, dilbert. especially when that same person is doing so to 10 or 15 people a day, 5/6 days a week. i don't want to hang around hairdressers in a 600,000 cases per day omicron wave, thanks.

why are you trying to make out like someone skipping on an inessential haircut for 10 days is 'cowardly' or some high act of hypocrisy? lmao it doesn't affect my life at all. i still go out each day. i still work in (prudently spaced, ventilated, etc.) cafés. i still go for quiet drinks with my gf. i'm not hiding away, struck dumb with fear of covid. i just ... can skip ... the high-risk haircut for a short while.

i've really never said that everyone should go out and put themselves at maximal risk to catch covid. that's not been the gist of anything i've ever said. being realistic about lockdowns/border closures/etc. is not the same thing as saying 'oh? covid is rampaging in my local area right now? time to go nightclubbing and to get a haircut'. why are you being so dumb?

watching you reach this hard is kind of sad. are you really struggling so much thesedays to present a cogent point on the covid argument?

i have no idea why the fuck you're throwing australian politics at me as 'back-up' of your cowardice claims. where have i ever said that hanging around one another maskless is a good idea? learn how to construct an argument, please, you are wasting everyone's time.

Here barbers worked through the pandemic, no restrictions.

You're scared of nothing.

barbers in the UK were closed for a long time. ditto nail sailons or anything deemed inessential like that. having two people breathing on each other in close proximity, ordinarily in very small and poorly ventilated shop spaces, is not really the best idea.

have no idea how this concept of 'courage' keeps getting invoked. stop being such an insecure cuck. it's not 'courageous' or 'manly' to dumbly put yourself in the face of getting infected. is this the only way you can exhibit your manhood thesedays, you sad little twerp?

Anyway, Omicron is nothing, barely a cold.

omicron indeed isn't serious. but i can easily push back a haircut. as i said above, i'm not curtailing my regular life in any way. how often do you think i need to be in a hairdressers or a nightclub? lol. what a fucking weak-piss argument.

i don't want to get sick. even mild illness is an inconvenience. i eat well, execise, get vaccinated, take all reasonable measures to ensure i have a decent bill of health ... why would i dive into a shallow pool full of omicron for a trim on the back and sides? it doesn't make any sense.

i'm sure your mummy tells you you're a big strong man every night when she tucks you in. get a life, honest to god. calling people cowards for deferring a haircut

I'm 6'2" and my dolphin pattern duvet barely covers my toes.

Your flip-flopping is making my head hurt. I donated $135 to the UNHCR Ukraine appeal, this seems to have helped.

Foregone conclusion that everyone will get covid at some point. Everything is opened up now and I see no reason to keep personal restrictions any longer.

I got it a few weeks ago, either from work or because I stood in a bar for 20 mins that week, and I've been vaxed 3 times as well. As I'll be taking some time off in april and want to travel it's a good thing tho as I suppose the antibodies will keep me protected for the next 2 months or so.

If anything I was surprised I got it so late as I've been physically at work throughout the pandemic. Also travelled in the eu last summer and did a lot of partying.

As for the illness; I was definitely sick for a few days and had complete loss of smell/taste for about 3 weeks. It's just recovering now.

You don't want corona at all yet you're calling someone a coward for avoiding corona hubs at the peak of a corona wave. It seems like a really strange angle to me.

That presumes more human control over this disease than we realistically have

Where did he say that specifically?

From a third party perspective it's strange hearing someone who is perpetually staying at home (with their parents) accuse someone, who learned a foreign language to stay in a foreign country for awhile, of cowardice.

Disregarding other variables at play, I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with people living with their parents in this economy but it kind of precludes certain judgments don't you think? On some level, are you staying with your parents out of sheer shrewdness?

yet he's scared of getting a haircut.
A stretch, don't you think? Again, you don't want to get COVID, right? Why give someone a hard time for that?

I don't want to get COVID either, and certainly not because I just had to get evened up or go see that new movie. Certainly never put myself in a position to get hugged by an outgoing restaurant owner in 2020 of all years.

Dilbert needs to move out and get a place in some mixed use housing.

Did you see the email leak where that Applebees exec was praising gas prices for the opportunity to pull in more desperate, multi-job employees at lower wages? This sucks.

Big yikes. Smooth brain thinking that has prices will help their bottom line instead of being a tax on everyone and everything.

The damning vibe I think is it isn't even coming from a position of quasi-naïve ignorance, like that one story about rich people who couldn't guess the price of a bunch of bananas. It's in the language, he knows specifically that this impacts low wage workers, and is working that into his MBA juju corporate cheer. As a business person myself, it makes me want to go shower.

dilbert brags about how much money he has yet he can't get a bungalow even in his parent's estate. weird, isn't it?

you'd think with appreciating property prices that it would even be a simple investment. not even that complicated.

he could still be a locum care-giver for his dribbling elders and also lead an independent, full, adult life.

but no. he's never left home.

but he's a manly man. bigly manly. super duper macho. he shoots little guns at the paper targets and everything! just like he did when he's 19 year's old.

what you're looking at is a human splinter that has never outgrown its primordial wound in something like 5 decades.

he doesn't want covid!!!! but if you delay a simple trim for 10 days during the peak of a wave ... you are a pussy.

something, incidentally, dilbert hasn't had without the intervention of a credit card in many years.
