not familiar with the particulars but the 'gotcha!' aspect of right-wing media coverage of AOC is really tedious.
i recall there being news stories that the silly little server girl from the bronx/queens was having expensive haircuts in D.C.
now the problem is she took a vacation? during a pandemic or what? doesn't everyone deserve a holiday? that she went to a place with different rules to her congressional seat, is that meant to be a problem? is she responsible for the system of devolved government?

There has been increasing concern for example over the politicization of the US military (especially during the Trump years, and his possessive language towards the military), but it's been an underlying thing for years before.
