I've been coming back to some of the playlists put together in this game (goes by red, green, blue in-game) for some of my other chillax games (Satisfactory to name an example). Just has that vibe when you're no longer in do or die mode.

Having something as a job can really turn you off of doing it as a hobby sometimes. The game is alright though, you don't have crap all over your body, gunk on the engine (it's either new or super rusty, not a lot of in-between on the RNG work orders), don't have to deal with staff or customer complaints, and all the problems have predictable solutions.

Still, the better game in this kind of genre would be World of Guns. It actually has a very cool xray mode where you can watch layers of internal mechanisms at work in slow-motion. The disassembly-reassembly minigames are more fun/rewarding.

Prometheus 2010 reorchestration of Conans 1/2 as a backdrop for top-town ARPGs, and stuff like Mount & Blade.

30-track playlist

Some of the purists I guess hated some of the changes made, but I enjoyed it.

that is really, really terrible. and i really think the foo fighters are an okay rock band. but they have no business doing that to bee gees songs.

abba are reforming anyway. people who like their disco watered down and in a questionable number of sequins can get their fix straight from the source.

how am i miserable? saying a song is bad doesn't affect my happiness. remember, i'm not stuck at my parents house with no life.

i'm about to go out on a date! ta-ra! so much for 'perpetual misery'. woe is me!

rolling stone is about as relevant as the NME thesedays. it’s a boomer magazine in the same way that NME was a magazine for pseuds from oxford who wanted to write about punk/post-punk/90s britrock.

it reminds me of when obama used to get dragged into some fancy condé nast magazine office to rail off his ‘playlists’. no one cares about the taste equivalent of Democrat centrism.

What are you talking about, the greatest songs of all time definitely occurred within this narrow window of human history /s.

What even is their criteria.

The comments on the Rolling Stone website were extremely critical. People angry they removed a lot of Dad Rock for modern music and a lot of hip-hop. I think removing a lot of Dad Rock for modern music was a wise and well intentioned choice. Sucks that time moves on but what can you do? But adding things like Missy Elliott: "Get Ur Freak On" to the top 10? Good lord. They gave Marvin G. a song but didn't put one of the ones people have sex to? You add the social justice one? Why are there multiple protest songs in the top 10?

I think it just proves that these top 10, 20, 100 lists based on "being a good song" or whatever are asinine when so many people have different tastes. That stuff should be defined by genre, and for reading interest: generation.

By highest numbers I guess is fine, if a little clinical.

this was what i meant by my out-of-touch boomers comment. generationally, rolling stone is classic/dad rock now. whenever they try to remain relevant or drive traffic to their website, by making some deeply flawed gesture like this, it just highlights the generational gap all the more. jay-z and beyoncé having one of the best songs 'of all time'? i could name about 20 soul/funk tunes from motown, inspirations to their tune, which are way better. marvin gaye? bill withers? curtis mayfield? the isley brothers? and no nina simone? or even someone like sade or erykah badu? beyoncé better than nina fucking simone?!?

trying to give a 'top xx of ALL time' list is always a very curious exercise that is going to produce 10x as many notorious exceptions. but in this case it just seems like a desperate desire to repitch themselves as 'relevant' to a younger audience.
