Why is anyone giving Kevin Sorbo the time of day? Wtf!?
You are just jealous of his successful movie God's Not Dead.

The movie was a 6/10

I only remember him from that terrible (on purpose) Hercules TV show. Are you his friend on whatever platform that is? I'm still confused as to why anyone is amplifying what Kevin Fuckin Sorbo thinks about anything.
It was given to me via reddit. The picture is from LinkedIn which apparently is a right-wing hotspot now since nobody would ever think LinkedIn needed content moderation.
There's probably some inkling of truth to that. But if we went through it all, the blame might be doled out in astonishing directions.
Also coming from a gym owner at the time, hardly objective. It would be nice if everyone could have a personal trainer looking like OBL, but you don't need a gym membership to not be fat and lazy.
Not gonna make gains if you're bedbound, comatose, or dead.

Explaining everything to you is getting really tiring.
Fuck Israel
Point remains that it's unfortunate to have articles with titles that could be confused for vaccines being bad, and then the meat of it (which not everyone will read through) goes like "but actually, they're not." Also that sometimes you have to dig up the small print to get to that.uziq wrote:

Tired of seeing it, and tired of re:ing highlighted article contents to various family, acquaintances (who obviously didn't read much/any of it), because I don't want a chunk of people in my circles to get sick and die or sustain lifetime damage.
Obviously, clickbait style isn't isn't going away anytime soon without a lot of reevaluation, but it would be nice if they hang it up when it comes to reporting on deadly pandemics and not lead in with a misleading headline.

In other news, this COVID wave is leveling off in terms of new infections. 2 week a average for new cases is is only +23%. The hospitalization total is only +32%. The big bad news is that the 2 week average for deaths is +111%. 1,165 deaths yesterday and 95,000 still hospitalized. So the explosive death number is probably the hospitalized population dying off faster than they are being replaced.
Meanwhile Florida is a disaster zone.
Meanwhile Florida is a disaster zone.
And finally winter is coming. The northeast will soon freeze over and the schools are reopening in a few days. Still a long way to go with this crisis.More people in Florida are catching the coronavirus, being hospitalized and dying of Covid-19 now than at any previous point in the pandemic, underscoring the perils of limiting public health measures as the Delta variant rips through the state.
This week, 227 virus deaths were being reported each day in Florida, on average, as of Tuesday, a record for the state and by far the most in the United States right now. The average for new known cases reached 23,314 a day on the weekend, 30 percent higher than the state’s previous peak in January, according to a New York Times database. Across the country, new deaths have climbed to more than 1,000 a day, on average.
Not too late to nuke China.
Everywhere people are holding out for ~75% vaccination, with a 6 month effectivity of 75% that makes for, hold on, 56% overall vaccine effectiveness.
Thats not good enough, that will keep the virus ticking over in the community and it will go on forever.
Just think, if the Chinese had admitted what they knew in December 2019 this would all never have happened as it would have been contained in Wuhan where it belonged.

We will be dealing with COVID forever. I think at some point most places will adopt a policy of fully reopening and letting natural selection run its course. I can't foresee us doing a third summer of partial lockdowns.
I got my shot and while I still mask up for public places I don't mind unmasking at parties or with people who are vaccinated.

A really great article that supports what I have been saying for 2 years. Mask don't work. Nobody should be forced to wear mask. Kids don't get sick.

live coverage of covid-skeptic march in germany. one bit looked like a middle aged daughter pushing her wheelchair-bound old mother along with the superspreader crowd. certainly something.
unrelated (except for trumpers, covid deniers sharing significant Venn space), youtube side bar wants me to watch video on sky news oz of trump saying biden was stupid to trust the taliban. checked the comments on it and man, the cultists and obvious trolls. horrible memories. one guy that's like "impeach obama." another that's all like "biden's out to get white men!"
makes me uncomfortable to read this soon after the sloshed office escapade.

fox news overlay, very selective wording: "45th president," not "former president."

I can see where Larssen comes from in directing much of his ire against the people at the end of the misinformation chain. Frustrates me too, but all the astroturfing, clickbaiting, and general misinformation also has some moral responsibility for this situation.Teri Adixieangel1

Much of the misinformation is as much ground up as it is top down. People didn't need Trump&co to be fucking morons on social media, though he amplified the sentiment.
Some of it legitimately picked up steam with concerted astroturfing and targeted ads on social media, and ushered in with the politicization of the effort against the virus.

Among none of which I could send to anyone deep in the thrall of conspiracy-brain and expect a change of heart. And dangerous to send to a contrarian fence-sitter leaning towards "no" on the vaccine. Deeply frustrating stuff. In order to understand why this informational battle is being lost, at least online, it must be first understood that the anti-vaccination movement is not just a rag-tag group of people worried about vaccines, but a highly organized and strategically coordinated political campaign. And while its members are indeed comprised of parents from both sides of the political divide who are worried for their children, there are larger, dare we say conspiratorial forces operating behind the scenes of the movement.
Conspiracy theory proponents often suggest that one should “follow the money” in order to reveal the hidden machinations of the conspiratorial forces that are pulling the strings of the world. Indeed, last year, researchers determined that most of the anti-vaccination ads on Facebook were funded by just two organizations, the World Mercury Project run by Robert Kennedy Jr. and the Stop Mandatory Vaccinations campaign run by Larry Cook.3 Meanwhile, a Washington Post article reported that the Selz Foundation was a major funder of the Informed Consent Action Network that in turn sponsored anti-vaccination campaigns and demonstrations amidst the US measles outbreak of 2019.
in the last week a conservative radio host and a young anti-vaccine activist in florida and texas (iirc) died of covid. the texan anti-mask guy was 30.
even when the people these ‘skeptics’ get their ‘information’ from die, and die at 30, they don’t heed the warning or reconsider their position.

Of course not to completely shift blame from the idiots who have their heels ground in so far they could check morlock on the census. They should stop for a moment and reevaluate. I'm just reiterating again that the driving force impetus behind a lot of this this probably didn't have people's best interests at heart.

This kind of stuff is well understood by manipulators. Very much an on-purpose sort of ordeal. How many ted talks have there been about exploiting human nature, I wonder?

You should really feel blessed to have been vaccinated.
