It's a sad situation but at least the the kid who got offed by the cop is Hispanic so Black Lives Matter will not destroy any neighbors in his memory.

Less click bait video answers some of your questions.

The cops instantly rendered aid to the kid after he was shot which is a low bar to clear yet something a lot of cops seem to fail to do.

I know people like KJ will not be happy unless the cop goes to prison. As for me, I could live with saying the shooting was not justified but instead call it something like 'a really tragic accident'. Then pay out money to the family, and transfer or early retire the cop.

This is definitely more of a tragic accident than the lady cop from Reno 911 mistaking a glock for a taser.
That's a more useful, if still difficult video. There's stuff that's not completely clear to me. Did he still have the gun when he was shot? How did it end up over there? Did it fly out of his hand after he was shot? This comes muddled on the tarnished wake of someone in a police department recently reaffirming that "yes, we did use plants," and I couldn't tell beyond a shadow of a doubt if the thing pointed out in his hand was indeed gun.

If it was, then it's his own bad judgment for arming himself and running around with a crook at night, bad luck for running into the police, and the crook's for trying to cultivate a child soldier or whatever. I think I've proven that I'm no defender of the cops, but stuff like being in imminent danger of being stabbed, or shots already having been fired, pull it into a grey zone where you cannot put the responsibility solely on police being Violent People.

Recently Maryland police shot a white teen who had an airsoft gun and a toy knife, reported on nbc here.

Brief search for a conservative blogger's take on white kid being killed by cops here. For a good time, also check the comments.

Not a call for police procedure to be reevaluated. Just an attack on BLM and libruls.

All trolling aside, the black activist who are legitimately into Social Justice Blah Blah do try to push the stories of white kids getting offed by cops in order to appeal to white moderates/conservatives. At least they did when I closely followed that stuff in the halcyon days of 2015. Whether they do so now I don't know. I can envision a lot of those activist losing patience trying to appeal to that group of voters. And also of course people do just age out of that stuff and get replaced with even more radical young people who start off with even less patience and will to compromise and accommodate.

I love the comments on the site too. I don't mean ironically love but actual ❤️. It's genuinely amusing how conservatives care more about trolling liberals than the lives of their own. Them and me probably both didn't even read the article.

I also think it is possible he tossed the gun before surrendering hoping the cop didn't see it so he wouldn't catch a gun charge and instead caught a bullet.

I know you guys do not like these videos but I implore you to watch this crazy video of a cop getting killed in New Mexico in February. Interesting story to this mess too. Federal law enforcement got this local cop killed by their own incompetence.

I wonder if this will be shown in training.

I hope federal police use it in training because they were the ones who told the cop to pull over the guy without warning him the guy was an armed cartel member.

I think I found the area where the gunman was stopped, on the 180/10. Initially confusing, but a Google truck is a higher angle than the guy on foot, but could be a low median. I haven't seen any two of those restaurants look the same. Comments from New Mexicans called it a dangerous highway? Or maybe that was the highway the cop was shot on. Same highway? Nobody's giving any specifics.

The restaurant should be relatively new because other street views show a fenced-in vacant lot.

After seeing the cop get literally merc'd, did it change how you feel regarding that 13 year? I had already seen it before learning of the 13 year old event. I was already sympathetic to the cop in the 13 year old case but after rewatching the cartel hit a handful of times as I looked for it, showed it to someone who visited, and (in retrospect poor taste) linked here, I don't fault the cop in the 13 year old case very much.

I mean the kid was tossing his gun away to surrender and got killed by a maybe jumpy cop and sure there would be cops who would 'accept surrender' and take him into custody fine. But this jumpy cop probably would have put up a better fight than the cop who got ambushed by being too nice to someone on the road in New Mexico. And it's not nice to shit talk dead children and everyone has a capacity to better themselves yadda yadda but the 13 year old probably wasn't going to start a local small business someday. He was shooting a gun at 2 AM with a 21 year old gang member. When people talk about kids turning their lives around they mean like a 13 year old girl overcoming a body image disorder. I would put a $1000 bet on the guy growing up to be a criminal if I was in the Robot Devil's Casino.

But my exact political remedy for the situation remains the same. Pay out some blood money to the family from the government or whoever's 'cop liability insurance'. And give the cop a PTSD disability early retirement since, regardless of how right or wrong the shooting was, the local community doesn't want him there. I think the community/taxpayers should have some control over the staffing of the local security forces they fund regardless of how right or wrong their reason for firing someone. They fund them. The cops aren't an occupation force. They are part of the government that is 'for the people'.

And finally, between the George Flyod trial, the Reno 911 taser cop, and now this and the warm weather...there will be blood for the blood God.

Nah, not really. The 13 year old was probably lured into some shady shit he shouldn't have been into. Obviously death, even in a chase with active shooting, was not the optimum outcome, and it's too bad this, that, etc. It's kind of ironic that uziq brought up "child soldier in a destabilized state."

Crookzilla coming out of his pickup AR-a-blazin' is on like a whole 'nother level. Looks like he even tagged another cop once they caught up to him. There was nothing blurry and uncertain about that footage.

Shooting a man crawling down the hall on police orders who's whimpering for his life is also not really in the same ballpark. Nor is shooting a social worker who's trying to keep his autistic charge alive. Nor is kneeling on someone's neck until they die.

e:
Police training and conduct is something that definitely needs to be addressed yesterday, but there are also problems in society, which cops can't solve, that need to be looked at too.

I agree we need mental healthcare and youth health initiatives. I would still put a $100 bet at the Robot Devil's casino that the kid would have still turned out criminally suboptimal even if we had invested the $1.92 trillion we spent in Iraq on Youth Services. Better chance yadda yadda but I would still bet money on it.

Maybe, maybe not. I don't really know much about the kid or his circumstances. I had childhood friends without much want still fall into the wrong crowd.

It's probably inarguable that we need a better social safety net in this country. Even if it turns out that this kid wasn't trying to feed his siblings or anything like that, other kids have to work to survive. Utterly shameful.

Do you think BLM would have been more successful if their protest were more like this instead of Fire and Blood.
"Indigenous Americans In Chicago Come Out In Numbers To Protest The Death Of Adam Toledo"
https://old.reddit.com/r/PublicFreakout … me_out_in/

I know plenty of BLM rallies have these sorts of thing at their events and are peaceful. Not every police incident results in riots and destruction either. But if the Hispanics don't burn down the neighborhood like the black community often does, what does that say about the black community? And why can I think of at least half a dozen black shootings deaths and their riots while this is the first Hispanic one go national in like forever? And also big yikes if you read more into that. I mean my position is that this kid brought this one on himself but at least he was surrendering. A lot of the 'unarmed black men shot by cops' went down fighting.

I think a lot of effort goes into twisting the message behind peaceful protesting in this country. Sometimes they're attacked anyway. Sometimes it goes in one ear and out the other.

The Dakota Pipeline is an interesting thing to look at. Built over the protests of people who lived there, and the construction itself brought crime. Route the next one through the White House.

Enough about the blacks. Let's annoy Google with some talk about Asians.

Is Hollywood unfair to Asians? Can an Asian lady be a "Lead Lady" in a romance story?

I was listening to the 4 hour long Final Fantasy 8 soundtrack today. A central part of that game was a love story before the main character and a lady named Rinoa. While all of the other main characters were white the love interest to the main character is clearly Asian due to the horny animators using a staffer as their reference.
https://img.playstationtrophies.org/images/news/rinoa.jpg
I was thinking about this when I thought how cool it would be for there to be a big Netflix adaption. I wonder if people would watch an expensive/expansive story if the leading romantic interest was Japanese. Of course a lot of people would but I mean can you name any A-level Asian leading ladies? They ran that one girl out of Star Wars. I have a feeling a lot of white women would have a hard time projecting themselves onto
https://i.pinimg.com/originals/59/cb/9d/59cb9d1b6a9d2cdd7f8d9b14c9207c76.jpg

Also can an Asian guy become a big action star? I'm not talking Jackie Chan type roles. I mean James Bond/Terminator type stuff. They hired Oscar Isaac to play Solid Snake. Solid Snake is part Japanese. They mentioned this clearly in the original Metal Gear Solid and probably dropped it once facial animation technology made big strives. Either way Oscar Issac is clearly not Asian.

Sorry for the triple post but this is the first time I watched this whole thing. The video is the "You're Fucked" shooting.

Christ that cop was an asshole from the first moment. "We have a failure to comprehend...you don't know how to follow directions...if you make another mistake there is a strong possibility you will get shot...shut up I'm not here to argue with you...you are here to obey". He said all of that in like 20 seconds. And what was the point of making the guy crawl towards him when he is flat on the ground with both arms behind his head? I know they thought there was still someone in the room with a gun but the longer you play Simon says with the guy in the hallway, the longer the guy in the room has time to prepare to fire on you if you are worried about that. There were five other cops there with the cop that shot the guy. They couldn't move on the two people to process them quickly while other cops covered the door? Thinking it over, I have seen ISIS videos where they manage to smoothly take prisoners under worse circumstances. What a mess.

It's really not an easy vid to watch. I feel like there's a fine line between snuff and documenting for public reference. I'm fine with the ones where the video during shots fired gets frozen, point made.

In other cop news:

Police use Taser twice on Marine veteran in Colorado Springs hospital room
https://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/l … pital-room

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Body camera video from Colorado Springs police officers shows the moments officers used a Taser on a Marine veteran in his daughter’s hospital room after refusing to hand over personal property to officers who failed to present a warrant, according to court documents.

In April of 2019, Carl Anderson Jr.’s daughter was flown to UC Health Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. Andersen says his fiancée accidentally hit his daughter with a vehicle while pulling out of the driveway.

“Charlotte walked into the side of the vehicle as the car was moving and got knocked over,” Andersen said.

The parents rushed to the hospital and were at their daughter’s bedside when several officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department entered the pediatrics ICU room.

Body camera video shows an officer reach toward Andersen.

“Excuse me, you cannot grab anything from my pockets,” Andersen can be heard saying in the video.

“Just give us the phone and we will be done,” an officer said.

Police were trying to confiscate the parents' phones as evidence to investigate how Charlotte was hurt.

“They never presented a warrant or any paperwork saying that they had the authority to take my personal property,” Andersen said.

During the encounter, Andersen refused to comply with police orders, and an officer steps behind him. Moments later, an officer uses a Taser on Andersen. A second Taser is deployed seconds later and officers arrest him.

David Lane, Andersen’s attorney, claims there was no reasonable suspicion or probable cause for the violent interaction.

“They were not arresting C.J. [Andersen] — they were not arresting anyone — so police have absolutely no right to demand personal property from anyone absent a warrant,” Lane said.

On July 13, 2020, Andersen filed a complaint against the City of Colorado Springs, Teller County and the officers involved in the interaction. The lawsuit claims the officers used violent force and unlawfully arrested Andersen without probable cause or suspicion that he had committed any crime while unarmed.

Andersen, a combat veteran, served in Afghanistan and says he highly respects law enforcement but feels officers crossed the line.

“One of them [officer] already had a Taser drawn and attempted to reach in my pocket to grab the cell phones,” Andersen said. “I feel anger; disappointment in the people who were supposed to be there to protect and serve us.”

He says he wants the officers involved fired and held accountable for their actions.

“What they did was wrong. They made the wrong decision,” Andersen said.

Lane says the officers involved were not disciplined for their actions.

“They need to be prosecuted,” Lane said. “A felony assault is what they did. They committed a crime, they should be doing some time.”

Andersen was charged for resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer. Both charges were dropped.

Lane says no charges were filed against the parents for Charlotte’s injury. Charlotte made a full recovery from the accident.

Denver7 reached out to the Colorado Springs Police Department and the Teller County Sheriff’s Office. A spokesperson with each department says they can’t comment on ongoing litigation.

A spokesperson with the Colorado Springs Police Department did clarify that a complaint was not filed with the police department following the incident.
