Well then figure out why so many, actually all of them, ended up being enablers. It's not just a sickness in the party here but a glaring weakness in your democratic system.
I don't really understand what you're driving at. I've never said there weren't flaws. I've frequently brought up my opinion that the presidency is too powerful in the wrong hands. I'm not satisfied with the way the legislature has thrown its weight around either.
Republicans maintaining silence over Trump (whether secret support or too afraid to speak up) was unspoken support, end of. For many people, it wasn't even that simple. "I didn't vote for him but you gotta appreciate/like/respect yadda yadda" get outta here. What do I care about Republicans finding their balls on the 11th hour to deliver lip service? A lot of the language right now is "oh this is a terrible thing but do you remember how much worse the liberals did in 2020?"
"At least Romney, better late then never." Pff. Is that really the best they have to offer?
Imagine your neighbor bringing a feral, rabid raccoon into your house to destroy your things and pee on the carpet. After nursing a beer and a smirk for an hour they finally wink and apologize. Oh, guess it's time to "mend relations" while they're in the middle of tweeting about how much of a bastard you are.
