Here is a blank map of America.

Please label all of the states you would be 100% certain you can name. This is not a competition. Don't cheat. Be honest.

This one is much easier, you people are stupid

https://www.abcteach.com/Australia/images/states5.gif

I'll give you the three easy ones, West Australia, South Australia, Northern Territory - see if you can guess where they are.

North South West Australia is confusingly in the south east - that does trip people up.

Victoria was nearly called Batmania - that would have been cool.

i actually liked geography in middle school. i could point out all the US states and every single country in the world back then (i mean we also studied it of course) but most of that info is gone now

Forgot about Wyoming. Forgot Iowas name but knew there was another 'I' state

I just know CT cause I didn't drive through on my way to Maine. Same thing with Georgia on my way to Florida

Deleted this and then realized I meant what I meant. I drove through Vermont/NH but forgot the order but that meant CT was the lone one left.

The fuck, y'all. I ain't making the map but it's 50 of 'em. I thought at first you meant just listing off by memory but you wouldn't have included a map if so. Vermont is the one that's wider at the top like a "v". Tricks, yo.

Cincinnati really is one of my favorite cities in the US. Sad I couldn't get out there this past year

I got them all, more from recollection of Vicky 2 and Hearts of Iron than school. There were a few I filled out through process of elimination rather than instant recognition. Surprisingly I didn't reverse any east coast states. Nearly reversed MO and AR. Forgot Minnesota was a thing momentarily so I had Wisconsin and Illinois shifted up.

Will post some sort of result in a sec.

Animaniacs had some catchy geography tunes.

Good mnemonic for VT/NH is Vietnam. For MD/MA I also remember MA as the one that looks like it has a witch boot attached to it. Massashoesetts (not sorry).

I wouldn't call it a 100% because process of elimination etc. Also some of the mnemonics I've used. I didn't need the one for Louisiana, but it's been useful for some.

I also remember having to learn the state capitols. Many aren't very interesting cities to study. I wonder how many people were turned off of geography over the sheer dryness of the presentation.

I can't tell you how much I love this. It is both hard for small children to understand but also something they would love because it is colorful.

Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico cluster can be "yes, U CAN."

Wyoming is a theoretical state. Some of my family say they live there, but I don't believe them.

The Tennessee one I remember distinctly from gradeschool, fourth I think. I'm not sure about the others, maybe I made them up while test cramming, maybe not.

I can 100% name all the state capitals. I can probably name at least 70% of world capitals.

I did this with my gf on Christmas. Not to whip out my epen0r but I can name all the states without a map (and got 49 of them in our 6 minute timeline - stupid nebraska throwing off my numbers).
I can name all the capitals as well.
Got drilled into me when I was in 5th grade.

First and foremost Washington, our best beloved President 1. Eloquent Adams, number 2, paid court with letters, postage due. Thomas Jefferson number 3, rigged the sale of the century. Now Madison is number 4, we're fighting the Englishmen once more. Number 5 is James Monroe, he told the world where not to go. Remember Adams, number 2? Well his son is 6, Adam Q.

I cant remember the whole song, but I remember up to Polk. 11, 11, it's Polk you see, manifest destiny. Go west young man, be brave, be bold. The land is free, the hills are gold.
