According to NYT, in swing states registered democrats are also out voting republicans in early voting by big margins.
Democrats appear much more eager about early voting. In the five battleground states that report party registration, nearly two million more registered Democrats have voted than Republicans so far.

In Pennsylvania — a state Mr. Trump narrowly won in 2016 — more than three times as many Democrats have voted than Republicans. The party breakdown is more even in Florida and North Carolina.
Big if true.

Who knows though? Maybe all the Trump voters are waiting for election day so they can make a big scene about not wearing a mask while voting.

In the last 3 months my voter registration status was changed from active to inactive. No clue why. Good thing I checked last Monday. Lots of fuckery going on in OC wrt to elections and voting.

Not sure how many other states have this, but I can track my ballot online and see which votes were counted and how. It does give me a sense of relief knowing there is a level of visibility.

I tracked mine, was received Sunday.

Friend showed me a pic saying if someone refuses to wear a mask to ask them to vote from their car. And if they refuse both to let them vote in person anyway.

What's weird is that it wasn't purged, just changed to inactive, which meant I did not initially receive a mail-in ballot. It still has me registered, so if I went to vote in person I still would have been able to. And even then, if my registration was purged, I could still fill a provisional ballot and supposedly still have my votes counted.

There are a few local elections that I need to vote for, along with some very draconian propositions in California.

you don't get to be cynical or satirical. you have a president for life who is half preserved in surgical-chemical aspic and intending to live for 300 years.

I used to think the same way, but I realized there are ways to work within the current system to get incremental positive changes while at the same time still advocating for and working towards fundamentally changing the system itself.

orly? ways exist within your current system to incrementally change it... fundamentally? what ways?

Ballot referendum are important on the state and local level. A bunch of states legalized marijuana that way. NJ is 7 days from legalizing it through ballot referendum. Gay marriage was passed by referendum in a few place IIRC.

you are a rube and an idiot. the only answer is to have a total revolution, to abolish property, and to all go to work on the sovkhozy. the future is possible if we just dig through the permafrost of capitalism!

shahter resides in that special stage of blessèd enlightenment where it’s better to do nothing for the disadvantaged, oppressed and suffering and to wait for the world to spontaneously end and rebirth itself, instead. even better if you can smirk and wink along with the fascist bully-boys on stage while you’re waiting. he’s just so smart, you see!

pessimism of the intellect, optimism of the will-to-do-nothing!

I just think Shahter doesn't care about any of that stuff at all. Shahter is to communism as jay is to libertarianism.

I was sarcastically referring to Soviet propaganda. I forgot we had bbcode tags for that.

It's still strange to me watching one of George Carlin's stand up routines where he mercilessly deconstructs aspects of society, and then the audience belonging to said society laughs, claps, and cheers along with it like they have no idea he's talking about them.

No, he says you can immediately work for incremental changes, while advocating fundamental changes in a different long term strategy. Not the same thing, and one doesn't necessarily lead to the other.

Incremental changes are usually good. People don't like the controversy and chaos fundamental schisms bring.

Did you ever notice Trump is really weird about women?

He visited Michigan today and defended the people who plotted to kidnap the lady governor. He walked out of an interview with a lady interviewer who was no harder on him than that one British guy was. It's strange how dealing with women frustrates him. It's a very old timey type of sexism to literally want women to shut up and look pretty.

I know you guys are probably thinking I am weird about women too but I am polite, friendly, and not creepy in person. I don't hold grudges or vendettas against women either like the president does. Trump is possibly the most traditionally sexist person I have ever seen.
