yep, jay and the blue-collar conservatives in a nutshell.
As a gardener this won't affect me but I still think it's a good idea. Biden's wife is a teacher so she will probably push Biden to invest to help teachers so that we get an education system that doesn't produce so many gardeners and tree people.Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has proposed creating a program that offers $10,000 of undergraduate or graduate student debt relief for every year of national or community service, up to five years.
According to the proposal, “Individuals working in schools, government and other non-profit settings will be automatically enrolled in this forgiveness program; up to five years of prior national or community service will also qualify.”
Hold up, I thought you were a mortician?SuperJail Warden wrote:

A gardener is a type of plant mortician if you think about it.
It's a small relief that the economic hardship we are having today is based on tangible events and not fake numbers on Wall Street.
I mean we all know why everything is closed and people are unhappy. We still don't know what set off the stock market crash of 1929. The 2008 crash was related to the housing market but it's not like a bunch of houses got set on fire and that was the issue.

there was something very tangible about the mortgage crisis. banks tie up huge amounts of their investment portfolios in the mortgage lending and property market (including corporate and office space). lending to people who can’t pay their mortgage whilst also pinning huge amounts of your investment portfolio on said speculative property bubble is very tangibly a huge fuckup.
i agree in general that these glaring aberrations and bad loans tend to be dressed up in fancy schemes and minatory practices. the bonus culture and constant need for good performance metrics meant that very unwise banking decisions were being kicked down the road.

Should I send my child to Catholic School? I was looking up the tuition at one in the town and it comes up to about $600 a month. That seems doable for my wife and I since we will have one kid.
If you ever have any kids (man there's a distressing thought), I would suggest doing a tour of whatever school you send them to. Especially find out if the principal is one of those mean-eyed bullies with a mile long complex.
Also, some Catholic schools aren't as bonkers as others.

I assume Catholic schools are better than public schools due to the barrier to entry producing a school populated by parents who are invested in their children's education.
But I wouldn't want my children to go through their formative years around only their gender. That's how you get secret gays. Also I wouldn't leave my kids with a priest. A nun, sure. But not a priest.

Why wouldn’t you be sending your kid to a yeshiva? I thought you were a Jew.
Isn’t all this Catholic postering to protect yourself from the first wave of the Caliphate‘a genocide?
I think public school is a better option, just encourage your kid to join student government, music/theater, other clubs that surround them with other Achievers.

I was a Jew last month. A Native American last week. This week I am a Haitian American Catholic. Ancestry.com said I was like 1% Iranian so I am excited to become a Shiite sometime in December.
Religion-non-conforming. Sounds fairly gay, idk. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Is that what this is, a protest against trans people? Being a Native American, I figured you’d have respect and tolerance for two-spirits.
New unemployment report showed weak hiring in November. The unemployment rate still ticked down to 6.7%. We were at 3.5% before Wuhan Flu hit. With a vaccine rollout in the spring and hopefully Biden making the money printer go brrrr we should be on track for a good economic recovery. We still should focus on getting former service workers jobs facilitating remote learning, deliveries, etc. Probably would be a good time to rethink public transportation since we might not need so many subway lines taking people to office jobs in the future and so on.
On another fun note, Trump is going to leave office with an unemployment rate still a point or two above where he entered office. That won't convince any R voters to vote D but it is still amusing enough to see that in the history books.

Well you work at a gay steel mill. Can't be that many workers who fit that profile.
There's a massive lack of good candidates, also a lack of companies willing to take on and train graduates.RTHKI wrote:

Inexperienced people will make mistakes, how many companies can take the risk and absorb it?
So many people starting their career's have no experience of doing anything besides sitting at a screen, and there's no respawn if you get squished by a forklift.
I've seen too many kids who think life is a video game.

That's why I feel only men should work at factories and only women should be allowed to be hostess. It's a real tragedy for that young lady to lose her life in such a way.
