i'm trying to encourage dilbert to use his bachelor funds to enlarge his life, and his best suggestion is to fulfill some boyhood fantasy of whizzing around in the big lonely sky in a jet. this guy is literally determined to be foreveralone.

I happened to look at an old email account and for shits and giggles looked at the spam folder where there was one with a subject line saying "I know your password is ______" with the shitty, extremely insecure password I've used to sign up for shit back in the day and haven't for a long time. They wanted money in bitcoin or threatened to release video of my screen and webcam to people I know.

The thing is... I don't have a webcam. My guess is they brute forced it or found it from some breach otherwise, but expect it's to just put that scare into laptop owners.

Yeh definitely leaked from a breech and they're trying their luck. I see a lot of them at my workplace, they say things like 'we'll release your porn search history' if you don't pay up

I don't know if was clear that I wasn't worried about it, because of the webcam detail and the general effort required if it were specifically targeting me.

Looking at that database, it does look like I had some breaches on that email with old college stuff. Chegg, Last.fm, and imgur are all thinks I haven't  used since.
