I did an arts and craft thing.
If you play MTG, you would understand that I cut two basic lands and stuck them together. Well the cards I made basically function the same way as the cards listed below that are never getting reprinted. And I am not dropping a rent payment on some cards. These are going into a casual deck anyway. I am not taking them to a tournament.

Same concept/prices etc. I made.

i really don't want to shit on your hobby at all, but am i misunderstanding or are you bragging about cutting two pieces of card stock in half and gluing them together?
Would people accept that as a legitimate card if you were to play it?

I didn't use glue. I used tape. When it comes to card games, something like the above is called a "Proxy Card"
People would be fine with it just not at a tournament where prizes are on the line because sore losers.
There is a whole business of making Proxy cards for MTG, https://www.etsy.com/search?q=proxy%20mtg
Orginal
Etsy Proxy
The original is $70, the Etsy one is $4.
I am proud that the one I made at home in 5 minutes didn't come out like this ugly thing someone who the concept also made.
I got the idea from reddit from someone who did the same thing.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proxy_cardA proxy card is an easily acquired or home-made substitute for a collectible card. A proxy is used when a collectible card game player does not own a card, and it would be impractical for such purposes to acquire the card.

Managed to keep a small human alive for an entire year.
for a fatty you're a serious intellectual lightweight.
Well done! Pretty soon you'll have your own little slave, until they hit around 10 and stop listening to you altogether!
We'll get started on "get dad a beer" as soon as she can get up and down the stairs safely.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

I would be super paranoid of stairs with a tot around. Such a death magnet.
Also grats on being a year closer to not having to deal with diapers.

No biggie, I've fitted stair gates on the landing so she can't go anywhere near them.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

What's the first rule of pee wee fight club?
Got the maximum performance evaluation and therefore the biggest bonus the first year they doubled the maximum bonus percentage. My boss fought for it but I didn't even think I deserved it this year.
Group projects aren't so bad in graduate school. Once groups are assigned I take the initiative and start to organize what works needs to be done and take responsibility for the final product. While it is more work being the group leader, you get to pick and choose what work you want to do. And the level of work you need to do is still less than doing the assignment on your own.
reminds me of the first project I did for that coding certificate course j took. I was the "leader" and only ended up doing about a half day's work of writing Javascript. I felt pretty disgusted about it, to be honest. But everyone in the group praised the presentation and demonstration, so i was able to slide by on that one.

won $42k playing baccarat at an indian casino here in socal doing some drunk degenerate shit with 2 of my friends. sat down with 2k and began with 200 dollar bets on player/banker running good, couple 25 dollar dragons hit too and next thing i know i'm doing 1k bets and eventually quite a few 5k bets. i'm not a big gambler and mostly play mid stakes poker when i do so this was my craziest session ever. at one point early on i cashed out when i was up 8k cause i made a sick profit and was of course happy but we ended up going back (lol). the cage cashier just asked for my ID/players card the 1st time i cashed out but after the final session i tried cashing out 9k of my win and they wanted my social security # and i just declined and took my chips with me. i guess the 10k limit thing for taxes applies to a 24hr period so u can't just do multiple cash transactions? i thought about having my friends cash out some for me but that seemed kinda sketchy
KJ or gurdeep i need your help. were they gonna use my social security # and report my shit and make me fill out a form or something? obviously i don't wanna pay the 30% tax or whatever and i don't wanna go back 5x to cash out 8k at a time or whatever since this place is 2 hours from me. like do high rollers in vegas really fucking pay taxes on 6 or 7 figure table game wins or what? i got a bag of $500 chips and i just wanna cash this shit out at once ideally and be done with it.
and ya, online poker tax evasion

Christmas is my favorite Holiday. I love giving others gifts. I don't care what you got me! Look at what I got you! So I finished my Christmas shopping this year. Banana for scale.
I'll usually only get presents for people who usually get me something. Not out of pettiness or anything like that, but because it can make people feel awkward if you get them something and they didn't give anything in return.
Thanks for the reminder, though.
