Closed with 1,000 cases, open with 100,000, closed again with 300,000. They took a calculated risk. Granted, they're shit at math, but there was a calculation.lil_droo wrote:
LA just got re-cucked by the mayor and governor. malls, salons, non essential office spaces etc shut down again. i am back to WFH every other week. i can't really WFH with my job so basically just chilling. shit kinda sucks because i have to call in at start time and call out so i can't really do anything cool. i'm also technically on call the whole day too if an emergency happens. wanted to plan some offshore fishing trips during the week or go up to the mountains but there's no cell service.
i feel like they jumped the gun on opening up in the first place but idk what can you do? ppl were getting antsy and you can only keep businesses shut down for so long. cases might go down a little now and they're gonna open back up and then shit's gonna spike again really bad around fall/winter and then we're gonna shutdown again. it's gonna be a rollercoaster for the next year or so i feel.
@mac is your district gonna do part-time instruction or are u gonna be WFH for the fall time managing your reddit porn subs? KJ's people in orange county just voted to reopen schools next month with masks being optional and no social distancing required. people on SJW twitter are calling it the florida of california. KJ you can't make fun of me for being from acton/santa clarita anymore
Oh i can still make fun of you for that. You just can also now make fun of my area for being full of Karens. Same as it ever was.lil_droo wrote:

Are u for real or just messing with me? You thinking about buying land for a house or something or just to have some property? Anyways the soil is decent I guess. There's quite a few different types but the best soil is down in the valley around the wash/dry santa clara river. Decent loam and a good base soil with amending. Little alkaline. There's a couple small ranches that grow fruit. Mostly cherries, pears, plums, peaches. Couple lilac farms too.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

I want to buy land to build a farm. I'm looking at something on the Central Valley side of the Tejon Pass, right around where the Grapevine starts. Ideally close to the base of the San Gabriel mountains, but I need to do a bit more research on the viability of the land.lil_droo wrote:

The town itself is pretty boring unless you like quietness and horses and shit. Close to santa clarita and the AV for any shopping and errands. 45 mins from downtown LA without traffic and under an hour to the beach as well. I guess a good gateway to the desert and sierras too. Just hop on the 14 and boom, you beat all the traffic and have a headstart from the metro areas. Also the San Gabriel's is basically the town's backyard
I saw that yesterday. Blowing up around these parts. That city is about 10 mins from where I live.uziq wrote:

america truly has to be the most senseless country in the entire planet at present. no wonder china and russia think they can walk all over you.
Sounds amazing to be honest. I grew up in swampy countryside but have been living in extremely urbanised places all my life since. At some point I'd like to live in a place like your description for a while.lil_droo wrote:

Is it me or does this seem to be the ultimate aspiration of many white middle class americans: to start a farm or ranch?KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

I think it's an aspiration for many people who grow up in urban or suburban areas. It's something different. I wouldn't ascribe it to white middle class americans specifically, but hey, I'm a white, middle class American, so there you go.Larssen wrote:
