The people I know who refuse to wear masks are pretty angry types who think everyone else is an idiot and/or a liberal cuck. Yet they are basically shut in addicts themselves.

Classroom attendance in September will be limited to only one to three days a week in an effort to continue to curb the outbreak, the mayor said.

About four months after 1.1 million New York City children were forced into online learning, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced on Wednesday that public schools would still not fully reopen in September, saying that classroom attendance would instead be limited to only one to three days a week in an effort to continue to curb the coronavirus outbreak.
Looks like I called it. Surrounding areas will follow NYC's lead. Sorry Jay. Time to hire a babysitter.
Nah. We all hate de Blasio. No one is following that morons lead.

None of the school districts around NYC will want to be the one that went back to business as usual and had an outbreak. You and the wife need to discuss how you are going to manage 3 kids at home several days a week.

Nah. We've already had conversations with the school district and our pre-school. We're good. You're going back to work, bitch.

They're going to keep the classrooms isolated and have the kids wear masks whenever they're in public spaces like hallways and bathrooms. No recess, lunch in the classroom. Whenever a kid gets sick they will need to be out 3 days and have a doctor's note to return.

Just the daily questionnaires for the parents at drop-off for pre-k. Not sure what they're gonna do for kindergarten since kids are bussed. Maybe they'll have the nurse do temperature screening, but if a kid is bussed all the way to school already what do you do? Maybe a tester per bus? My kid will be walking across the street so I haven't looked into that part, honestly.

It sucks, but what can you do? If kids have to stay home full time millions of parents are going to have to quit their jobs.

I like the idea of alternating schedules to limit the amount of people in a building at once. Some days in classroom, some day virtual. It probably won't work either but still has a better chance than sticking a bunch of kids in a classroom and making them put on mask when they go to a bathroom. All it takes is more kid in that class of 25 to screw things up. And are they going to isolate staff too?

I'm not privy to teacher union vs district negotiations.

I will say that the college my brother teaches at has had all the students tested prior to coming back to campus. The students are not allowed to leave or order anything in. One student tested positive so he and his roommate got sent home. The teaching staff is under no restrictions. When I pointed this out to him he agreed it was completely stupid.

President Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Tulsa that drew thousands of people in June, along with large protests that accompanied it, “likely contributed” to a dramatic surge in coronavirus cases, Tulsa City-County Health Department Director Dr. Bruce Dart said.

Tulsa County reported 261 confirmed new cases on Monday, a one-day record high, and another 206 cases on Tuesday.

Although the health department’s policy is to not publicly identify individual settings where people may have contracted the virus, Dart said those large gatherings “more than likely” contributed to the spike.

“In the past few days, we’ve seen almost 500 new cases, and we had several large events just over two weeks ago, so I guess we just connect the dots,” Dart said.

And tens of thousands of protesters etc. There's no moral high ground on either side of the political divide.
