People were upset you played as a muscular girl who had a weird sex scene too. and I heard the story was bad. Didn't play much of the first.

I have only heard the story was bad from people who are upset about SJW stuff. Other reviewers praised it.

Either way, I am not buying a PlayStation.

I read the story on Wikipedia. It seemed fine.

The game play actually looks pretty decent.

But I am still not buying a PlayStation

I've seen a bunch of headlines about how disappointing it was to fans of the first one.

Cyber Punk 2077 looks like absolute shit.

That said, I appreciate the fact that they attempted to make a single player game with a narrative to it. And a narrative in a new world that is unlike anything else.

Still I will not buy it.

I know it's a future-y setting and has Keanu Reeves, but I have no idea what else is exciting about it. Granted, I've never been much of a futuristic techno-dystopia fan, but what selling points does it even have?

The company who made this also made the Witcher which people say is a great game that also looks like shit in my opinion. I guess the selling point is the fancy graphics and unique world. But the gameplay looks awful otherwise. It looks like it could run on a Playstation 3 if you downgrade the graphics. That says a lot about the stagnation of video games.

Maybe games have stagnated or also my memory of what games were like is warped and we really are in the future.

Ah, that does explain the hype more, I guess. The Witcher 3 is like Breaking Bad to me. It's quite good, but I wouldn't agree with popular conceptions that it's "the best". There's a lot of repetitiveness in it and the map, while large, has swathes of just empty space. Likewise, it has many "open-ended" quest choices or skill trees, but they're not exactly balanced so the majority of the time you'll pick ____ unless you're doing some weird, specific route. One of the DLCs had a questline that was very interesting and charming compared to much of the base game, though, and the other has a much nice atmosphere.

When talking about RPGs like this or Fallout or Mass Effect, I generally want to get everything out of the way in one playthrough and then never revisit it because it's a pain in the balls. Skyrim is the one exception that I beat multiple times with different characters and builds, though that game also had its issues.

In other news: Twitch perm banned one of if not the top game streamer they have. He had 4 million followers an an exclusive deal with Twitch. No one knows why he is perm banned including him according to his Twitter.

I don't watch Twitch because I am not a Zoomer but the drama showed up in my news feed. The guy probably isn't taking this latest drama well:

he was talking about david icke's anti-semitic conspiracy theories for like 20 minutes before he went offline.

with that said, they signed a multi-million dollar several year deal with him recently. i wonder if there's some sort of legal manoeuvring going on.

never watched him and honestly could not give a fuck about twitch or streaming generally.

What part of his conspiracy theory? The lizard people part?

I really love the fact that he pushes back so strongly against people who say he is using code words or making analogies and instead says he is talking about genuine lizards. It's somewhat endearing compared to Pizza Gate and other right wing theories.

Cyberpunk 2077 will no longer have one of its more intriguing movement mechanics that have been showcased in demos over the last couple of years. CD Projekt Red says it has ditched the wall-running ability.

"[Wall-running] is something that we removed due to design reasons,
but there's still going to be a lot of flexibility in how you move, that's for sure,” level designer Max Pears told Gamereactor in an interview (via Eurogamer). A lengthy 2018 gameplay demo showed the protagonist V equipping mantis blades, then running along a wall and perching above a group of enemies.

This game is so doomed. It's like watching a slow moving disaster.

Wall running can be a bit of a gimmick anyway. I don't really get the feeling that losing it is going to doom the game. Maybe they couldn't figure out how to balance it with their map layout, or it was causing too many other balance issues with traits or abilities.

I wonder what that "lot of flexibility" is, though. Jump-jets. Bat-grapples? Hoverboards?

I would consider Day of Dragons to be a better example of a slow moving disaster.

I really look forward to when VR chat is in wide use. Just watch the first minute of these videos. You can't tell me there isn't potential in this.

I bought Red Dead II in the Steam sale cause I've had an itch to play in that setting for a while now. I've been naming my horses after varieties of cheeses.

Give Mount & Blade: Bannerlord a look if you get tired of watching horses pooping but still want to ride around.

I played the old one and it's fun for a couple hours. My brother got super into it despite all sorts of broken-ass game elements and frustrations. Sounded like Bannerlord had some issues at launch, too.

Bannerlord had an early access launch. There were problems, but it's less crashy at this stage, and has lots of neat mods. I can imagine the full version will have an ample amount of TCs in the works.

Warband has plenty of balance/feature mods, and it's quite easy to tweak to your liking.
