No newbie, gosh, there's no dice in MTG.

I stand corrected. I would have looked it up but I don't want to be a pedant.

No, there are no dice in MTG. They are used as life counters. You start off at 20 life in a typical game of MTG and the dice help you remember what your life total was. This is mostly from a bygone era where smart phone calculator apps didn't yet exist.

How did I come into owning such a collection of different looking dice? Well when you buy a MTG set bundle, they give you a free pair of dice as had been tradition for 25 years. Each dice from each set is different in color, size, and markings.

I don't have anything fancy to hold the dice in so I might buy a dice tray from the box lady to hold them.

Sorry, I have no nostalgia for the game. I think the last time I played I was a sophomore in 1997.

I like Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Someday I would like to own a ranch house or condo with fancy Bed, Bath, and Beyond stuff.

It seems like Trump ruining the lives of a random American family to spite a talk show host may have pushed Twitter to take action. Big news for a president who uses Twitter to bypass media.
Twitter on Tuesday slapped a fact-check label on President Trump’s tweets for the first time, a response to long-standing criticism that the company is too hands-off when it comes to policing misinformation and falsehoods from world leaders.

I expect Trump to not escalate the situation and make it worse for all involved.

Here's a link to an article on that: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-twee … eck-label/

Along with his tantrum about it being a violation of free speech somehow, maybe for the benefit of his rabid base. I wonder if he'll launch an investigation.

14 hours ago, the neurotic president saw fit to lambaste Barack Obama for playing golf. Each visit to the man's tweets is like a trip down the rabbit hole to American McGee's corrupted and decayed Wonderland.

I guess if you tweet 200 bullshit posts a day or whatever at least one of them might become viral. Sound marketing!

Stunning for me to see absentee ballots under redoubled attack. It's a nice system for people who can't be there in person. The security reasons cited for reducing access to this seem like fake news to me.

The motive is obvious, though. Reduce the number of Americans who can or will vote. Bank on the ones who have been leaning on the president's coronavirus advice (ignore it) since the beginning.

From April,

Republicans Now Just Admitting They Want Fewer Americans To Vote 4/3
https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2020/04 … ns-to-vote

Meanwhile Texas, as an example, is making moves to reduce absentees.

I drop my absentee ballots off at a manned receptacle outside city hall. I'd feel just as secure leaving a ballot with people running them at a school or library, or even mailing it in.

Imagine if this attack goes the full mile and they tell overseas troops "sorry, we don't think your absentees are safe enough." It wouldn't surprise me to one day hear that they have.

President Donald Trump is set to announce an executive order against social media companies on Thursday, days after Twitter called two of his tweets "potentially misleading."

The draft executive order being prepared by the Trump administration seeks to curtail the power of large social media platforms including Twitter and Facebook by attempting to reinterpret a critical 1996 law that shields websites and tech companies from lawsuits.
It marks a dramatic escalation by Trump in his war with tech companies as they struggle with the growing problem of misinformation on social media. The President has regularly accused sites of censoring conservative speech.
...
The draft order, which was reviewed by CNN, targets a law known as the Communications Decency Act. Section 230 of the legislation provides broad immunity to websites that curate and moderate their own platforms, and has been described by legal experts as "the 26 words that created the internet."

Imagine all of the trouble Facebook, Reddit, and so many other sites are going to have as a result of a Trump tantrum.

President Donald Trump early Thursday morning retweeted a video of one of his supporters declaring that Trump’s political opponents ought to be dead.

“Thank you Cowboys,” Trump tweeted with the video posted by Cowboys for Trump, which shows Couy Griffin, the group’s leader, ranting about Democrats in violent terms during a gathering at a New Mexico church on May 17.

“I’ve come to a place where I’ve come to a conclusion where the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat,” Griffin said as the crowd cheered.

The Trump supporter insisted he wasn’t talking “in a physical sense.”

“And I can already see the videos getting edited where says I want to go murder Democrats,” he said. “I say that in the political sense because the Democrat policy and agenda is anti-American right now.”

The Aus PM hired a thinktank of gas industry proponents to advise him on how to get Australia out of the Wuhan flu recession and their advice was to remove all environmental controls on gas drilling.

So, there's two sides to this. Under Obama, the EPA was captured by Greenpeace and other environmental groups that make their living by suing to block nearly every development on environmental grounds. They sue in order to delay projects to death like with the pipeline a few years ago.The regulations they wrote made it easier for them to win in court. Should an advocacy group that sues the government for a living be allowed to write laws that essentially makes it an extended branch of the government?

Erm yes, greenpeace earn revenue by blocking pipelines, their payout ratio to shareholders is 60-70% in a typical year.

I don't know, should oil companies be able to give actual cash money directly to congressman so they can get what they want?

No, government agencies should be neutral. Regulatory capture in general should be thwarted, and overturned when it has been allowed.
