Hello, in times like these you often delve right down into your darkest memories out of sheer boredom, therefore here I am.

I am glad Uzique is still the exact same person he always was.

BFV should’ve given this place a mini resurgence but, something was missing with that game.

this place ebbs and flows. god forbid, we haven't all been here nattering at this volume for the whole time. there's been rhythms to this shit.

no BF game has done anything to revive this place. not a single one. i think the last time any of us played together as a community was BF3/bad company 2.

I feel very old in that I thought of Battlefield Vietnam with that initialism and was perplexed as to why that would've helped. Welcome bek, Mek.

So in other news my neighbor got laid off last month and now spends all him time making beef jerky on the smoker in his backyard. Every few days I have a chat with him over the fence while gardening and he tosses me a fat sack of jerky and it's pretty lit.

Is it hard to make beef jerky? I'm down with the lifestyle my neighbor is living.

Nope, and you don't even need a smoker. But you should get one anyway. Green Egg

Make bat jerky. Uzique says it is okay.

I'm going to look into dehydrators, thanks Jay. Mac, I'd consider catching a squirrel in my backyard if I want to get exotic. Bats look harder to trick into falling into the smoker.

i would never eat bat but i realise that's my own cultural hang-ups. i wouldn't go to spain and eat bull dick or testicles, either. the english are fussy enough to not even go to france and eat horse. cultural differences are a thing. i have no desire whatsoever to eat bat.

nor do most chinese people, by the way. it's a bit like being slandered for some niche and gross western food that you have never eaten. have you ever had eels? haggis? i haven't and that's 'native cuisine'.

I don't really see myself sampling alligator meat, for all that they do sometimes sell little shrinkwrapped sticks of it alongside stuff like moose and elk at the local market.

it's a boring meat. tastes like chicken but the texture is a bit rubberier.

i think alligator meat tastes like swamp chicken. Definitely taste the water in there.

I like trying exotic foods. I'll be bf2s resident Andrew Zimmern.

I ate some ants a few months ago. It was on like a $20 dish of pad see ew. Or maybe pad krapow? Can't remember. Anyway, it was an overpriced thai dish at a tapas place in Denver. The restaurant was called Linger. When i told my relatives they all laughed, because apparently the restaurant used to be a mortuary called "Olingers".

Sorry boomers, i don't remember the halcyon days of North Denver, nor do I care. Gimme my ants!

Linger seems like a word I wouldn't want to associate with food

i don't really take much stock in names. It's better than "Ye Olde Meat Provisions Shoppe". "Bird and Bush". "Keg and Barrel". Yadda yadda yadda

The ants linger in your gums while you suck back a $8 natty light
