you are beyond stupid. you are literally, literally beyond stupid.

the 'elite' didn't spread the disease. do you know who took it to italy? chinese factory workers. wuhan is a logistical/transport hub, not a fucking ski resort for the global 1%. it's denver, not aspen. it's a working town. a lot of people fly to china for business and everyday commerce, jay, not international banking elites and bilderbergers.

i thought you were a fan of the spirit of enterprise? independence? the rational guiding hand of the market? that's why wuhan is immediately connected to the outside world: trade and commerce. not because of a jet-setting elite.
Ok uzi.

What point are you trying to make? I still think you have major, major OCD. Do you even know what OCD is or will you check with Tyler Durden first?

Hey, so this is pertinent. Doing some online training through my company while I work from home. Only 30% of all initiatives meant to change something are successfully implemented.

"Why the Low Success Rate?

There are many reasons change initiatives might not be as successful as they should be. Select each side of the image to view some common reasons. Do any of them sound familiar?"

Leaders:

•Don't explain their expectations clearly.

•Fail to incorporate the change themselves.

•Miss recognizing how people are reacting.

•Don't measure success.

•Lose focus on sustaining the change.

Employees:

•Don't understand the need for the change.

•Aren't held accountable and go back to the old, familiar ways.

•Lack needed skills.

•Perceive the change as being more work.

•Feel a loss of control.

Change Employees to Citizens and there you go.

no, i don't, jay. i interact with people with a broad range of political opinions. conservatives and leftists.

you think that the world's leaders are all singing from the same hymn sheet because they want to kill 'the little guy'. you literally have painted the communist party of china, the islamic republic, and the government of france with the same brush as 'panicked liberals' or 'chummy elites'.

by that point you're so far off the deep-end of reality that you may as well be calling into alex jones' infowars show.

you're a classic example of the self-fancying 'critical thinker' who couldn't reason their way out of a crossword puzzle.

I don't exactly have to go out of my way here. You call this "just the flu," went off on a wild tangent about kleenex boxes on feet (?) in specific mockery of my hand washing or whatever, and now here you are 30 pages later with fake articles written by an imaginary friend from Fight Club, screaming about it being too late for any action, and finally telling us to wash our hands. You are an enigma.

Jay, what should we call the virus? Like half of the articles on National Review are defending the president calling COVID-19 "Chinese Virus". Do you think we should call it and that and remind people of its origin or do you think that he is just stoking xenophobia?

So let me sum you up. I've been on this forum for what? 11 years? In that time I've given you a hard time for roughly the entire time. Why? Because you're arrogant, you're a bully, and you're largely insufferable. You built up a small cult of personality around you with people that would fawn over you in an attempt to avoid your wrath and receive a bit of praise (newbie being a great example). No one ever challenges you because you're a fucking prick. I guarantee people avoid conversation with you in person because you are that guy that always has to be right and belittles any opposing opinions.

We clash because I'm similar, and I give zero fucks what you think about me. Literally zero. And that's why you hate me so much.

But back on topic, you do live in an echo chamber. Your ego would never allow you to fraternize with the help or seek out their opinion on anything. You fancy yourself a member of the Elite because you went to a mid-level British university and studied a largely useless subject. You care tremendously about how others perceive you, from the way you dress to what fucking headphones and keyboard you use. You curate your reading tastes in such a way that no criticism can be leveled at you for daring to be provincial in your tastes. You play at being the socialist for the shock value at gatherings (but it's no longer shocking when everyone has the same opinion, is it?). Basically, you're the fakest person imaginable. You are a construct designed to please a very, very small portion of the population while being a snob towards the rest.

So, please, tell me how the working class guy with kids and a mortgage feels about being impacted by this mess. Tell me about your very deep, personal conversations you've had with the doorman in your building.

I think it's a mix of both. I think it's sad, but also predictable, that the PC police bought the Chinese government's propaganda about how it's racist to call it by its origin. I also think it's stupid to be stoking the fire and "owning the libs" by calling it the Chinese Virus, or the Kung Flu or the CCF Virus right now. I just call it the coronavirus.

zerohedge is a website that has been around a long time. It's primary purpose was to expose high speed trading and their ability to induce flash crashes. Now it's a mixed bag of Russian propaganda, financial news, alternative news, and some nonsense. Sometimes they have gems. They affected the Tyler Durden byline because when the site started they were working at wall street firms and didn't want to be fired for whistleblowing.

Fight Club is or at least was my favorite movie for a very long time. It hasn't aged well though. It is a good load of Boomer pessimism and entitlement. The protagonist was upset he had a boring life with a big condo and office job. It's as if the people who made media from the 80's to early 2000's had no idea most Americans flipped burgers or picked up garbage for a living. The boring middle class lifestyle Hollywood boomers resented is a fucking privileged by millennial standards.

fight club has had a second life with the 4chan/alt-right/breitbart/incels brigade. it was so popular and so bad a cliche that it became a wojak meme, 'the doomer'.

It's not even like the flu in that sneezing and runny noses aren't symptoms. It's a dangerous lung infection. Is more like tuberculosis than anything else. That's one reason I don't call it Wuhan Flu anymore. We aren't dealing with a seasonal flu. We have a new disease that we might have to do mandatory vaccination for like we do with TB and other stuff.

There are already 15,000 COVID cases in NYC. In a week there will be at least 100,000.
