Hey I got that one from HB. I didn't even know the game existed. Thinking about trying it after I've exhausted PC Building Simulator.

Not really. It has a "career mode," but I lost interest in slowly farming access to better equipment after about two in-game weeks. It does have a free build mode where you have access to all hardware available.

Mostly there's a sort of zen to it. It can be a fairly useful tool for puzzling out what you want to build (with real parts), what case you're going to put it in, how you want to lay everything out, and how it will look when you're done.

Cable management is more or less automatic, but water pipes are under your complete control. You can have multiple radiators, but only one reservoir. I've never actually messed with PC water cooling IRL, so getting a virtual hands-on was a novel experience.

Interesting to play around with cases you may not bother with otherwise.

Ha. If it weren't for the fact that I already have a HAF chassis to repurpose for whenever I rebuild (if I don't just buy pre-built), it would be doubly useful to see which one is the most convenient to work with.

EVGA DG-87 seems pretty sleek for nesting fans between radiators, but the exterior aesthetics aren't for me. I'd also be tempted to store it in a soundproof cabinet …

(e: yeah the air flow is weird in this one but the game doesn't seem to care)

Didn't you weep during Captain Marvel?

I got a bit choked in Captain Marvel, same for Wonder Woman.

I can see it would be useful if you're actually planning builds, I've used CAD for years, it was presented as a game though.

Come to think of it there probably is something like a sandwich making simulator present somewhere in the pea soup of joke simulators on steam.

Basically a mod that takes Fallout 3 and sticks it into the New Vegas engine. You then can play both games with the same character and travel between the two wastelands. Playing Fallout 3 for the first time since 2009 and it is better than I remember.

That was completed? I thought it was hit with a C&D, or I could be thinking of something else.

You are probably thinking of something else. This is actually finished and patched. Even has a simple installer

Probably. Seems about twice a year some fan project I was looking forward to is smacked down by Nintendo, EA, or some other company.

Halo Reach on the PC

It's a fantastic port and for only $9.99 an absolute bargain. It runs well on any PC since it came out for the Xbox 360 from 2005.

The competitive multiplayer is garbage. The Co-op is fun. RTHKI, his friend, and me managed to beat the campaign on legendary in one sitting and it was a great experience. Highly recommend.

i guess it's fairly trivial with mouse+keyboard compared to sucky controllers w/ clunky auto-aim.

i installed Warcraft 3 on my laptop over the weekend. Pretty much strictly to play custom games. I've played a few DoTA, Green TD and Legion TD games so far. NOSTALGIA!

have you not dipped in to dota 2?

I played dota 2 for about a year or so when it first launched on steam. I'm not sure what the state of the game is now, but in the beginning, you had to grind for like 30-45 mins to unlock abilities before you could actually do anything worthwhile.

I legitimately used to fall asleep playing it.

Depends on the user. I know there are complaints about controllers have too much aim assist right now.

I don't really like them for shooters. In my experience, a lot of overcorrection, excess lead, and having to anticipate more. And if it's something like Mechwarrior, I'd prefer a joystick with a twist axis for finer control. Of course, I come from the angle of Doom/Wolf3D and having had to finesse the keyboard before making a more modern use of K/M. By that time, I wasn't ready to give the gamepad a fair shake for shooters, and just never got into it.

Best memory of the original Halo was trying to find a way to take the car with me wherever I went. End parts of the game felt pretty rushed, and probably were.

The Flood levels of Halo CE were pretty disappointing. The Flood as an enemy aren't very fun period.

Bungie didn't get to do everything it wanted to do with Halo. I was pretty annoyed at that when the game came out. But looking back, Microsoft did pull its butt out of the fire. Better released than becoming vaporware, I guess.

I only ever bought Xbox's to play Halo. That was the only reason to buy a Xbox instead of a PlayStation 2. The PS2 backwards capabilities made it the clear better of the two consoles. The first edition of the PS3 with the ability to play PS2 and PS1 games again put it ahead of the X360 if having a Blu Ray player wasn't enough for you.

I am not even sure why anyone would get a 360 instead of a PS3 considering the 360 was still a DVD only machine. I played my Special Edition Halo Reach Xbox 1 once and then sold it. My PS3 is still hooked up to the TV in my living room if I ever need to watch a BluRay though.

Well soon anyway. I ordered it through Amazon. I am dusting off an old PS3 I own just for this one game. And I guess any PS1 and PS2 games I can find around the house too.

Loved that game. A button masher and not the best but was the only options for a Gundam game at the time.

theHunter Call of the Wild. Been playing with Adams, fun game, easy to kill lions. Best strategy for deer though is to shoot em up the bum.
