So the attorney General lied about being in contact with the Russian ambassador. Meh. At this point I would be surprised if anyone in the Trump admin wasn't in contact with Russia.

Kathy Watson was anxious about her health coverage even before she woke up gasping for breath last month and drove herself to the emergency room with a flare-up in her heart condition.

After struggling for years without insurance, the 55-year-old former small-business owner — who has battled diabetes, high blood pressure and two cancers —  credits Obamacare with saving her life.

Watson also voted for Donald Trump, believing the businessman would bring change. She dismissed his campaign pledges to scrap the Affordable Care Act as bluster.

Now, as she watches the new president push to kill the law that provided her with a critical lifeline, Watson finds herself among many Trump supporters who must reconcile their votes with worries about the future of their healthcare.

“I’ve been through enough,” Watson said recently, sitting on the patio outside her mobile home, down a sandy road in a rural corner of northern Florida. “I don’t want to go back.”

oh oh you are probably going to die.

Can't say I feel bad for her. She brought this on herself. I bet you even if Trump takes away her healthcare, she will still vote for him in 202. Unless she died of course.

she could have fixed her diet, got into jogging, joined a gym – anything
instead she voted for trump: the white blood cell to her societal infection.

she deserves to die. she's dumb as fuck. she's an insult to democracy. democracy is for people who can think.

If she was fat and old and sick and voted Trump then bad luck.

For her sake I hope Trump cancels healthcare and brings in compulsory euthanasia for signed up Republicans - its what they want and need.

Trump claiming that Obama ordered illegal wire taps.

He's forcing the FBI to now admit either they've found dirt on him and Russia. Or that they have nothing but were investigating. Or that Trump is full of shit.

I really love these 3am tweets.  Never boring haha.

Trumps first major executive order has been struck down, twice, by the courts.

His first bill has been struck down by his own party.

Sad!

The Muslim travel ban is stuck in the courts, and healthcare reform is dead.

As far as the Trump agenda goes, there is still tax cuts, infrastructure, and the wall to get to. The failure of AHCA burned a lot of political capital they had early but there is still a long time to go until the 2018 midterms. It will be something if the Trump presidency doesn't result in any major legislation.

The muslim ban overturn by the courts is more political than legal.

The executive office always had the power to exclude anyone from entering the country. It's even encoded in legislation.

8 U.S. Code § 1182 - Inadmissible aliens

"(f) Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President
Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate..."

gee I guess restrictions of entry from a certain class of aliens from certain countries is totes legal.

You can argue all day about whether it's right or wrong but the executive has plenary power when dealing with foreign affairs (bar treaties).

you're right.  Those judges who are making rulings don't know the law.  Maybe you can tutor them for a small amount?

I think the judges argued that since the Trump administration has talked about it as a Muslim ban repeatedly, it was a ban on a class of people which violates the constitution's ban on religious discrimination.

judges get law wrong all the time. Even the best and most famous of judges can get law wrong in the name of justice (eg Lord Denning on Contracts). Even appellant judges can get the law wrong. Why do you think there's an existence of appellant courts? there is a large amount of supreme court precedent in regards to foreign policy/ immigration.

Macbeth: there were a lot of issues with the first ban due to procedural fairness issues, where people have been approved for visas or have green cards were blocked from entry.

For the Hawaii injunction it's a bit of a stretch to call it a muslim ban due to trump's campaign speech when only certain countries were targeted (ie class of nationals not religion). Imagine if the US could not restrict German or Japanese Citizens from entry in WW2. That would be ludicrous.

Le judge's rationale in first ban:

"No person shall receive any preference or priority or be discriminated against in the issuance of an immigrant visa because of the person's race, sex, nationality, place of birth, or place of residence."

But people do get preference and priority in immigration visa. Every country in a visa-waiver program gets huge priority. Australia also gets 10k e-3 work visas that other countries don't have. Green Card diversity lottery is based on place of birth. Lets see if they'll strike down those statutes.

Yes, its only one line of law which ever matters, not the constitution, 200 years of case law, other laws etc.
They aren't relevant at all.

yeah because the united states was totes known for welcoming all races and nationalities and did not have any restrictions at all.

if you knew anything dilbs, you should know that bar constitutional issues, statutes always trump case law.
