what's the deal the removable sim card?
Oh, I meant SD card. I bought the note 4 instead of the 5 because I can remove the back cover and swap out the battery and SD card. Instead of paying for more internal memory I bought a 128 gb SD card I can swap between phones when I upgrade.

How is the reception with T-Mobile?  I've always wondered about switching to them once I got my own plan.  But AT&T has good coverage everywhere
Ok in cities, trash outside of them. I switched to Verizon about 4 years ago and it's much more reliable.

i ordered a raspberry pi off amazon, along with a power adapter and some SNES controllers. Everything arrived except the Pi, and I couldn't wait so I went to Frys and bought one.  I installed retropie and now I have a pretty sweet emulator.

So far I've only loaded: Zelda, Punch Out, Metroid, Bubble Bobble, Excitebike, Marios 1-3, and Megaman.  For SNES I've loaded Aladdin, Mario Kart, Starfox, Street Fighter 2.

I need good games to add.  SNES and NES to start.

why?  This cost me $75 out the door, and I can play multiple systems.  Nintendo Switch is like $300 and you are limited in the games you can play.  Plus I can always just swap out the micro SD and use the Pi as a media center or other things.

I beat Mega Man 2 last night. Took me about 2 hours or so.  Funny how much you remember as a result of playing a game over and over during your childhood.

My AMD 8570 seems to be having trouble, crashing the PC, maybe this'll fix it.
Also I wanted to try a Quadro card for CAD.

Why are workstation video cards like the Quadro so much smaller than gaming GPUs yet still cost the same? Are you just paying for the specialized drivers?

Don't know really, sales volumes are lower, its a less competitive market, I don't know if the hardware is really different - I believe it is.
I do know that having an incompatible card is a world of shit, compatibility is 10x more important than speed.

We had an IT guy who was mentally ill and delighted in fucking the place up. He put half the staff on Outlook, the other half on Thunderbird which made for a world of trouble. That's when he wasn't repairing things using replacement parts he knew to be broken and hoarding working parts for no clear reason.
He built my PC for me, I told him to get a Quadro card, failing that an Nvidia gaming card as they generally seem to work, failing that an AMD CAD card, so obviously he went with an AMD gaming card which has never been right.

Bought a Nvidia 1050 4GB. Has about 5% more power over the card I "upgraded" from. Fucking bitcoin miners.

He was a motherfucker. One of my colleagues is like Dr Spock, mild mannered, super smart, very hard worker.
He needed a very specific PC built from old parts, some of our machines are old and will only work with a specific build.
The IT guy put together a PC, promised it was good and handed it over. My colleague had endless trouble with it, lost hours of work and eventually stripped it down himself. He pulled the heatsink off the CPU and written across the CPU in marker pen - "Faulty".
He asked the IT guy WTF he thought he was doing wasting his time with a machine which he knew was faulty - "I thought it might work this time" "Based on what?" "Oh, nothing"
My colleague was so angry he had to take a day off work.

For some reason he hoarded good parts and would only give out crap. One time someone needed a new keyboard, the IT guy had a stack of brand new keyboards in boxes, but would only give the guy an already broken one.

Working with crazy motherfuckers is a motherfucker.

He retired a couple of years ago, leaving a trail of mayhem and broken systems in his wake.
The new IT guy is slowly unscrambling it, he has a few more years to go.

At least I got a new PC, there were so many problems with the old one.

Very nice. Prebuilt? I just built a PC with that case and am very impressed by it.

I shudder to think how much you paid for that GPU.

Not prebuilt. Prices have been on their way down, though. The trick is if you only buy components once in a decade, you don't remember what "good" price is.

External blue ray drive. $99. Why are these things still so expensive?
