They can't, it's about more than just the presidency. The GOP needs to basically concede the presidential seat to make it look like the party still has cohesion to still fight in the congressional game.

I think the best thing I've heard from the collective alt-right maniacs, anti-establishment nihilists, and brain-dead idiots that support Trump is that they're going to work to undermine the GOP if they continue to back away from Trump. Best possible outcome. Because Trump won't win, I just can't see it happening. And if the Trumpettes work to punish the GOP over it well that's just brilliant, it means everyone else doesn't have to find some other way to do it for the fucking disaster they have introduced by nominating Donald Trump when they should have just quoted that other great Abraham:

"You? President? This is the greatest country in the world! We've got a whole system set up to prevent people like you from ever becoming President. Now quit your daydreaming, melonhead!"

At the moment Trump is an out of control firework. He'll burn up eventually but until then he's going to do a lot of damage and the best advice for anyone is to try and get to a safe place and watch the carnage from afar.

Whats most interesting is that the grass-roots membership of the GOP is absolutely fed up with the GOP.
The Republican party could well be finished, Trumpettes, Tea Party, anyone who isn't white and rich - I see it fracturing.

They aren't even close to that. Trump doesn't put the party in a good light, and they should lose some house/senate seats, but they won't completely crumble. We've worked way too hard to establish our two-party nonsense to have 1 idiot stroll through and tear it apart.

He shouldn't win. There are a lot of people working hard to make it look like he is in a stronger position than he is. A Trump win will be a defeat not just to Hillary Clinton but to logic, scientific process, and numbers.

Edit: Man, the latest bizarro move from Trumpettes is to call for the 19th Amendment to be repealed because Eric Trump posted a picture from fivethirtyeight showing what would happen if only men voted; a likely landslide victory for Trump.

Like... how many ideals of your own country can you shit all over under the banner of "Make America Great Again"? First they were just cancelling religious freedom and discriminating on the basis of race, thy moved on to jailing political opponents AND their lawyers. Now they're going to take away a woman's right to vote? What in fuck is up with these people? They can't be serious!

This has gone way off the deep end. This is absolute insanity.

But the problem is states like Texas start leaning left the further the big cities such as Dallas develop.

4 years or 8 years from now if Texas turns blue, the GOP will remain in the political wilderness and have no chance of securing the Presidency. That doesn't mean they lose control of House or Senate though. You can gerrymander those as needed  (and both sides do).

Haha the blames racism in the south as a product of hearing about "those neighbourhoods" and "those people" through television shows.

And a Hillary victory would see civil liberties slashed, continued political corruption, Americas debt continue to skyrocket....

They're both shit and like uziq (ps "uziq" autocorrects to isis on my phone) says perhaps someone not in the political limelight would have an easier time hiding their corruption, but go look at the stuff wiki leaks is putting out. Read the words this woman has written regarding blacks, Hispanics, gays when she thinks no one but her own guys are listening. "Can't we just drone him?" Can't remember who this was said about but it's as good as a direct quote. A woman who talks *literally*, as in uses the words, about how they're running their pay to play scheme.

Just tonight John Podesta's twitter was hacked using information from these leaks meaning either the leaks, and therefore all this nasty shit on Hillary, is real, or the democrats created wiki leaks and it's all a sham. Either way you cut it, that's no good.

On one hand you have an orange, aging, insensitive racist who calls for political reform and the removal of corruption, and on the other you have the very woman who facilitated a very large portion of this corruption.

I could understand you guys not wanting to vote trump but I never thought I'd see actual support for Hillary..

Yeah, he's a jackass, a pompous slimebag who made his money from fucking the little guy, but I truly believe in this election he actually has America's interests at heart. Hillary, however, will only care for her investors, and Saudi generals.

This is not to say the GOP are perfect our free from corruption, but at this juncture, you have two choices

You can choose a man who supposedly is a sexual aggressor, or you can choose a woman who is confirmed to be a corrupt, heartless, cold bitch who doesn't care about you unless you have a few million to throw her way.

A lot of these people were born into dead and dying towns and feel helpless. It's easy for a snob like me to say "just move to where the jobs are like your parents and grandparents did" but they would have to torch their entire life to do so, or they're too old with too few skills to succeed. They want someone, anyone to help them fix it.

We really do live in two different countries. People in the cities want cheap goods because the rest of their expenses are exorbitant, and it ultimately has no impact on them where the stuff is created. People in rural areas want farm subsidies and tariffs and low corporate tax rates because it protects their production jobs. In the end, they're outnumbered and their way of life is going to fade away. They know this and are simply fighting a rear guard action. They deserve sympathy, not derision.

I would feel sympathetic for them if Trump was just appointed the nominee and they had no choice in any of this. But Trump ran in a primary with 16 other people who represented "small town ideals" much more than he does. Trump is a billionaire from NYC who has mocked small towns and people in the past. John Kasich, Lindsey Graham, Rick Perry, Jim Gilmore, Rick Santorum, Mike Huckabee, and Rand Paul are all much more aligned with the culture of rural Americans yet 44% of Republicans decided to go with the guy who lives in a golden skyscraper because "he speaks like us".

It is interesting how before Jay would talk about how people living in poor areas and states where they don't like the cultural laws should just move to a different part of the country if they didn't like it. He has told us before that a gay person living in Alabama could just move if he didn't like it.

But now that the Republican nominee is riding the resentment of small down yodels and suddenly Jay thinks we need to pity and cuddle these people.

Then again I have been saying for years that Jay is just one health crisis away from finding God and becoming a a "Christian conservative" so there you go.

The rest of the field were progressives and neocons who offered them false promises. People off the coasts absolutely despise Washington. They watch their best and brightest go off to the cities and then shit talk them and condescend towards them. Trump was the winner because he was an outsider.

I just honestly couldn't give a shit less about your social justice garbage. You can't claim we live in a democracy and then carve out exemptions to thwart the will of the majority. Doesn't work like that.

Trump isn't an outsider. He is the embodiment of big city excess and corruption. They picked him over Mike Huckabee because he is loud, aggressive, and and dumb like they are and assume the rest of the "silent majority" to be.

A lot of them could have joined the military and made something out of their life like you did. If they did less drinking they could have gotten engineering degrees. Their situation is unique to the western world because they are purposefully ignorant.
