making it illegal means the doctors that perform them bear the burden of the judicial process, not the women seeking out the abortions. There are some places where the female is also punished judicially, but it's rare and it's generally not what the pro-life movement is pushing towards.

I think being pro-life as a concept has been hijacked by the religious right in the US. I'm pro-life in every sense of the word, but I still believe abortions should be legal. I get that it's just a place-holder for the religious views on abortion, but it's stupid.
