Ok, how about the Missouri college students? Or the Yale college students? Or the protestors that shut down Trump's rally in Chicago the other day?

When reacting against a specific event, I totally get protest. The Ferguson riots? Makes total sense. Same with the Eric Garner protests. But when it's a bunch of college kids treating it like a lark, fuck 'em. Or a professional agitator? Hope they get a boot in the head.
Trump is treating the Presidency as a lark.

It makes total sense to elect one guy in the hopes that you get the other guy in charge. What happens if you really like the prospective PM but your local MP is a douchebag you despise? Now you vote for the douchebag but the party loses and you get stuck with two people you don't like instead of one. Sounds perfectly rational.

Glass houses, bitches.

People generally vote for the MP they like, but then again both sides of the pond have people voting for the party line. But if the PM is being naughty the Gov General can fire him lel. The opposite is the same though, if people don't like the PM they vote for the other party. That's what killed labour during the gillard cabinet.

Then again, we got a pretty hostile senate that is impossible to get shit done which they're trying to reform right now. The greens (yes, those greens) have teamed up with our conservative party to get reforms through. It's like hell froze over.

edit: ooooo and hows this, the party kicks out the PM when s/he is too unpopular as well. there are pros and cons to this... We haven't had a PM who sat for a full term yet.

You have zero say in who your PM is.

Derp, the PM doesn't wield the power of a President, he's more like the chairman of a committee. And as we know PMs are regularly changed if they don't behave, toe the party line, hence we vote for the local candidate, and party, not the PM.

Not that the local MP holds a lot of power either.

Whereas the President does hold a lot power, once in is not beholden to the party etc.

I can see you're interested in this stuff, maybe you should read up on it?

Just as anyone anywhere has zero say in who their head of state is - so we should stop discussing politics.

I'd say I have more say, living in a country of 20m, compared with you in a country of 320m. My say is about 16 times bigger than yours - which is a lot.

Also, my local senator goes to the same restaurant I do. When was the last time you sat next to your senator?

ozens of protesters blocked traffic near a Donald Trump event in Arizona on Saturday, while demonstrators marched in New York City to protest the GOP front-runner.

The protesters in Arizona parked vehicles sideways on Shea Boulevard, blocking both lanes of traffic into Fountain Hills, Arizona, where Trump held a rally Saturday afternoon, Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Deputy Joaquin Enriquez told CNN.

funny protester at :20. Trump events in big cities are going to be a mess going forward.

I endorse Hillary Clinton for president. The thing that I like about her is her foreign policy experience. While I have issues with her ability to govern domestically, I would feel safe knowing she is responsible for America's safety. Sanders, Trump, and Cruz just cannot be trusted with that responsibility.

I didn't support the bombing of Libya at the time. But I do in retrospect. The civil war there is very low intensity. The two civil wars there killed 15,000-30,000 people. The war in Syria killed 250,000-470,000 over the same time. An intervention to stop the dictator from starting a long dragged out civil war probably saved hundreds of thousands.

Are you referring to the NATO intervention in the Balkans? Wasn't there a genocide going on? If anything the Clintons didn't intervene enough. The Rwandan genocide needed to be stopped.

You have to be trolling if you think Rwanda is anywhere near the Balkans. Yes there was a genocide going on in the Balkans, BY ALL THE FUCKING FACTIONS.

Clinton only intervened in the Balkans when the PR opportunity presented itself. it was far from humanitarian. more like humiliation motivated.

what has Hilary done in foreign policy that is so noteworthy again?

Following Tuesday's deadly attacks in Brussels, Donald Trump, the Republican presidential front-runner, knocked off a quick succession of TV interviews in which his talking points evolved, enlarged, doubled back on themselves, and generally seemed of a piece with the candidate's improvised foreign-policy platform of being terrified of Muslims. The note he returned to again and again was that Belgium's capital was a “horrible city” brought low by Muslim immigration.

Trump wrote:

We have to have very vigilant and careful about who we let into our country. I know Brussels well. And Brussels is a total mess. And I’m not talking about the attack today. I’m talking about generally speaking. It is a city that used to be one of the finest, one of the most beautiful and one of the safest cities in the world. And now it’s a catastrophic, very dangerous city where the police have very little control.

Can't even pander in a time of tragedy in a classy way.

Many people here still believe in "Muslim No Go Zones" so this line of thinking is going to go over well. Especially with middle America who believes that large swaths of their cities are "White people no go zones" already due to immigration and whatever. I just hope we don't have a large attack on or near election day otherwise this man will be our president.

Donald Trump Wins Major Police Endorsement After Promising The Death Penalty For Killing An Officer

The man is a snake, but it's hard to not find some gallows humor in how people who were paranoid about Obama wanting to national [e: nationalize] police are getting behind Trump's plan to ultra-militarize them.

They don't have a problem with the government having overwhelming power. They were just afraid Obama would use it on them. Now that Trump is practically promising terror campaigns against Muslims, FEMA deaths camps seem like a good idea to temporarily house refugees. A lot of Americans would be okay with pushing muslims into the Trump Resort Sauna.

After a super PAC unrelated to Cruz published an ad using a suggestive photo of Trump’s wife, Melania, from GQ, Trump laid the blame on Cruz anyway.

“Lyin' Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad,” Trump tweeted Tuesday. “Be careful, Lyin' Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!”

While it remains unclear what “beans” Trump was referring to, he posted an image on his Twitter account Wednesday another user had tweeted insulting the appearance of Cruz’s wife, Heidi Cruz:

This campaign just keeps getting classier. It is truly amazing how nasty Trump and his supporters can be.
