Not so much at the time I had no satellite/cable tv and news channels as such didn't really exist over here. It was obviously covered on most news bulletins, and as I said I think it was the BBC showed the live trial nightly.

I started the second season of Better Call Saul last night.  Not bad, nice that they are moving the story line along.

Also, Top Chef California.  Good stuff.  I've been to the restaurants of two of the contestants.  I want Amar to win (go Laguna Beach!).

Oh shit, forgot to add Better Call Saul to my list. Really loving it, so good. Ed Begley Jr. was so great last episode, especially at the end.

guy is too one dimensional.  I like him though.  I went to that douche Philip's restaurant in Venice.  It's as you can expect - super pretentious and douchey, and the food was nothing special either.

haha no but it's pretty much as hipster as you can get in LA.  Most of the New American restaurants out here are kind of cookie cutter.  It's probably the same around the US, but I've only experienced LA, Portland and SF food scene.

A James Beard semifinalist for best chef in the west cooks at a spot right around the corner from my place.  Taco Maria.  Prixe fixe menu is bomb.  Some of the best Mexi food I have ever tasted.  Never been to Topolobompo, but I have been to two of Rick Bayless' restaurants out here and Taco Maria blew them away.

I usually try to hit up a few of the top restaurants a year here in the city. I went to Buddakan a few weeks ago, which is where the idiot fillipina from this season is the sous. Phenomenal food.

Best place I've been to is Aquavit which is Marcus Samuelson's place. That meal cost me like $500

Wish Futurama would come back. It really was the best animated show on T.V. Better than the simpsons even.

I think South Park is better than Futurama.  Consistently better.  This last season was the best I've seen.

Yeah I miss futurama too, there was something about that show...

Has anyone seen the expanse? If you're into sci fi you should check it out
I'm 8 episodes in and kinda enjoying it, it doesn't have a huge budget and some of the actors are pretty bad but it's got enough to keep you hooked imo

They weren't the same, but I remember watching a few when they were on and was pleasantly surprised that they were still very good.

Personally, I think "Rick & Morty" beats the snot out of both these shows:

But 'The Simpsons' isn't a very large hurdle to clear. Everybody keeps pointing out the loyal dog episode, and tbh it's the only real thing that stuck out. Even so, pretty contrived heartstrings stuff, and it's not like I have super-high standards for TV stuff. It's just that "oh, Bender is doing something really selfish, but may momentarily regret it in the end. Haven't seen that before" occupies like a third of the plot idea dartboard.

I don't think I've watched anything beyond the Cthulhu episode. Something in my brain just decided it was endgame. What would the boys even talk about after that? "Oh, hey Cartman, remember that time when you were snuggling up to the God of Madness?"

Finished Narcos on Friday. 9/10

I liked the show a lot. I wasn't too crazy about the performance of the blonde cop because he seemed more goofy than intimidating and I didn't like how the season ended on the cliffhanger like that. Would have given the show a 10/10 if it wasn't for that. Much better than Breaking Bad season 1.

Finished House of Cards just now. 8/10.

The show's dialogue is smart and it is filmed really well. The acting is great too. The problem with the show is how ridiculous the political situations the show comes up with are. I would go into more detail with someone if they wanted to but I feel that if you have a show that is based around U.S. politics you need to come up with scenarios that are grounded in reality. No spoilers
