BF2S Forums Are you sick of the stupid rules some servers have on?

Well, as a BF2-player I agree with the idea that everything thats possible, is legit because the meaning of the game is to win.
But as an admin (wich I am) I don't. We have a server and our goal is to simply keep it fun for everyone. So
we do have some rules to accomplish that.
We as a clan on the other hand have some rules for ourselves too. If were playing with a couple of members, we keep it balanced so people will not have to compete against one clan if they join our server.
All to keep it fun for everyone. Uh, for most of the people, the guy who likes to rape the shit out of everything and everyone on the carrier with his bad-ass, earned with a tk, attackchopper, has to find a different server

Found a new one on a "air maps" server:

"Do not switch seats to TV-missile mode." Or something similar.

Whats the purpose of this? Loosing lock? Not flying alone?

Base raping is fine tbh.

I dont remember it being an exploit/cheat/hack etc. Same with spawn raping, if your getting owned. Don't give the other team the satisfaction of killing you, and spawn somewhere else!

EA has plenty of servers for you to play on, so quit complaining about not getting your way and go play there...  You guys sound like the Marines that got caught killing women and children in Iraq and made up a car bomb story to cover it...  I'm sure that lot thought base raping was fun, too...  Even reality has rules, as they are finding out, so do like a real soldier, follow the rules and quit crying...   Better yet, lets limit or take out re-spawns and make you wait till the end of the round to play again, after a TK...  See how you like base raping after you sit around in empty servers waiting for players all day.

I wont fill in the XXXX but it was their server.... I "unloaded resources" immediately after reading that..... no way was I gonna play with that kind of elitism going on.

It's their server dude. The punish system is put there to kick people out of the server. THINK ABOUT IT.

Rules like that on servers are unfair, baserapping is uncalled for.

Really? Because I think you need to think harder. It's their server. If you punish them they will get kicked out. They don't want that to happen so they kick you for punishing them. They made it a rule NOT so they can teamkill all they want. They made it a rule because they are not going to be teamkilling on purpose and therefore should never, under any circumstance, be punished.

It's not my server btw. I'm just trying to explain why they have that rule and why it should be common sense on any other clan server not to punish the members.

Now while I agree that I shouldn't punish a clan member in his own server, the part that I was offended by was "under any circumstance."

I found that to be a lame "attachement" to an otherwise sound idea.

So I took myself elsware..... an action you obviously support, and I quoted it for truth.  So again, I'll say I did think about it, and I will say that it wasn't something that took me long to think about.

The real problem is we need a CTF gametype!

Not particularly a RULE but sort of comes with it...

I was in a server the other day that didn't allow so many common words and if you said them it kicked you.

This one guy said a joke a few people said "lol" and it said "kicking # watch your language" or something like that ...

But yeah more to the point, "base raping" most people just get stressed when this starts to happen so don't even try to counter act it, most of the time they will just get out and try to weaken the enemy while they are alive instead of hiding and taking the enemy down more slowly but effectivly.
