So the good news is I am getting job interviews for some great positions. The bad news is everybody's HR department is so slow that I haven't heard back from any of the orgs I interviewed at, despite having confirmed I would get a call (good or bad) and even having followed-up in a couple of cases.
I'm just over here preping for interviews I might not even need to attend.

stay with it. keep prepping, and even though you "nailed it" don't assume you're in. a good job (one that uses your talents, pays well, benefits, and has an attractive culture) is worth it. don't settle, even once - thinking things will get better at a shitty job will, when you seek a better job.Pocshy2.0 wrote:

I have to pass a background check and do a polygraph test in order to make it into the police academy. I have successfully completed all other requirements.
While I was going through my history, I remembered that I practiced martial arts when I was younger. I was very successful. I am a second degree blackbelt in TaeKwondo. Only one of 28,000 in the United States. I am registered at the Kukkiwon. Aka the World Taekwondo Headquarters. The official TKD governing organization established by the Korean Government and supervised by Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. In my parents basement is 35 trophies and countless medals I have won in TKD tournaments around NJ.
That is a good thing that happened to me and I just wanted to share it with someone else.

Thanks, Dauntless. The cards are called PBA cards. I think they only work in NJ though. They will usually get you out of a traffic ticket. I am not sure if they will make a difference if you get caught doing some other minor nuisance like littering.Dauntless wrote:

RTHKI obviously doesn't have any friends or family police officers. If you did, you wouldn't pass this up.

I'm sure plenty of people get "away" with things over here for being related to or being friends with police, but to have a card to illustrate the fact is outrageous.
