For a long time the Abbott Opposition has been a far more effective Opposition to the current Government than the Shorten Opposition is.

At the moment Labor are putting out more policies than the LNP.
Which doesn't mean anything since they're in opposition, and as we've seen they'll vote against their own policies.
When they were in power their 'policies' invariably backfired, failed or had to be hurriedly reversed.
I'm about done with caring TBH, there is zero quality of anything in Australian politics and the entertainment value is well below the cost of keeping these vegetables in Canberra.

Explain how running up so much debt that a nation can't even afford to pay the interest, let alone the debt, makes any sense.
And the point of taking on debt to spend unproductively.

it's like when people say how great the clinton era was for the economy... then you look at the figures... and you're like "wtf". this whole idea that your outgoing shouldn't exceed your incoming (tax and revenue) is utterly specious.
People having such a limited understanding does make it a lot easier to sell the narrative that China will foreclose on the US and then UN troops will round up all Texans into FEMA camps though.
