ITT we talk about the election.

Democrats running
Hillary Rodham Clinton

Bernie Sanders

Martin O'Malley

Republicans
Jeb Bush

Chris Christie

Mike Huckabee

Marco Rubio

Rand Paul

Ted Cruz

Ben Carson

Piyush Jindal

Carly Fiorina

If I had to pick a Democrat, I would want Martin O'Malley. If I was forced to pick a Republican I would pick Jeb Bush.

I think Martin O'Malley is going to be president in 2016. I think he would be perfect for what the country needs in 2016.

I hope Chris Christie chokes on on cake. Please god no more Bushes or Clintons either. I only picked Bush because everyone else was terrible.

I felt the same way about Republicans. Bush miraculously came away as the only reasonable choice just because everyone else is so batshit insane.

How is Martin O'Malley even doing in the polls, last I checked a few months ago he had less than 1%.  I didn't like him much as governor but he's still leaps and bounds less scary than having Hilary as president.  He loves solving problems by raising taxes though, he even created a rain tax in our state

Personally I want Rand Paul, maybe Ben Carson.  The top Republicans all seem to be Conservative dinosaurs(Carson kind of falls into that too)

If O'Malley does well in the debates, he certainly has a chance. The same thing happened with Obama in '08.

I am unfamiliar with much of his policies but they can't be that far away from typical democrat standpoints. I mainly like him because he doesn't carry the same baggage Clinton does. Many people reflexively oppose anything related to her. O'Malley will start with a clean national slate.

I would be astounded if the USA elected another Bush. Thought Scott Brown would have been a viable option for the Republicans. He's white, he's male, he's greying, he's more than six feet tall. He looks like the sort of thing you'd find in a box on a film set marked "US President". He's also fairly moderate so would appeal to swinging voters and Democrats who don't want to see Hillary in the White House.

Of course now he has a record as a loser, albeit in a blue state.

How behind in the news are you people in Australia? Scott Brown hasn't been relevant for awhile.

What about what I wrote suggested Brown was relevant now? You do realise "thought" is in the past tense yes? Also it's not my fault that  Americans start talking about the election a month after the last one ends.

Also - Australia? It's like you're deliberately trying to bait me.

Isn't Bernie Sanders fairly similar politically to Warren? Problem is he's old and looks it.

Sanders is old, but he seems to have millennial's backs and want to get things back on track for us, from what I've heard and read (admittedly not much). I always stick with 3rd party, but depending on how things go, I might go for him.

Sanders is unelectable. He was an avowed Socialist. I doubt middle Americans are going to be cool with that.

Would be crazy cool if he was elected though.

It sounds like you won't vote for him because you don't think he'll win. This country will keep being shit as long as people keep treating voting like betting on horses.

I can't vote in democrat primaries and if he makes it to the general I will vote for him. I would even throw up $100 for the campaign fund if he wins the nomination.

I am angered by this as much as you are.

I know that everyone running for president is crazy. If you look at the U.S. with all its issues and think "I should be in charge", you're out of your fucking mind. The Republican candidates just need to hide it better.

"crazy" is not really the problem. the way they can put just about anyone in the white house using modern information manipulation technologies  - that what's really bothersome, don't you think so?
